Sun is on the Horizon after Arizona Winter Storms Arizona's extreme winter weather is reaping havoc throughout the state. It was a wild night of rain last night, the worst seen in almost 20 years. Yesterday alone the cities of Surprise had 3.4 inches of rain and Sun City West had 3.7 inches.
Arizona streets (Maricopa County) cannot accommodate heavy rainfall as what we had yesterday. Consequently many underpasses were closed yesterday. The hard clay becomes soggy, swamp-like in areas.
