In the past few weeks I simply tried to nod intelligently when I heard "QE2". I tried to decipher the sound "keweeetoo" but didn't get anywhere. So many sellers and buyers are thinking and operating as though this is a "buyer's market" like that in 2003-2005 when a sign went up in a yard and agents would send in offers because they knew the house would be sold by the end of the day. Here in the Fox Valley, we are NOT in this past style of a "buyer's market".
Here in St. Charles, Geneva, and Batavia only a certain percent of the listings are "buyable". This isn't a technical term (and probably isn't even a word), but it is my definition of a house that can … (5 comments)

Buyers Beware: New regulations allow a lender to pull a second credit report immediately prior to closing. If a home buyer opens a new credit account or puts a big purchase on an existing credit line, this can affect negatively the credit score and debt to income ratio, potentially jeopardzing final approval of the loan. Jim Frimmer is a great writer who makes a significant contribution to improving the practice of real estate in his blog. His Featured Post took a couple of interesting paths and generated debate about the use of the word "Realtor"...I was one of those who wandered away onto another track. On reflection, I believe that when there are rules one should follow them...and Jim's post helps us to do just that.
