Oh my goodness!!! North Florida is underwater! New data is showing that almost half of homeowners in the Jacksonville, FL area owe more on their loan than their house is worth in the current market. Zillow.com reported that about 48.9 percent of Jackonsonville single-family homes showed negative equity in the second quarter of 2010. Jacksonville homes have lost more than one-third of their value since the peak in August of 2006. The current median price for a home is now at the 2004 levels. The Jacksonville's tall ship festival sailed into downtown Jacksonville on the river walk and went out with a bang. The beautiful tall ships were on display from the Hyatt Regency hotel past the Landing and ended at the Times Union Center. The tall ships were amazing to view and this year the tall ship "Bounty" was on display for anyone to see at no cost. The "Bounty" is a replica tall ship that was used in the film "Pirates of the Caribbean." What beautiful water views - Downtown Jacksonville, Florida - an exciting place to be. I live in The Plaza Condominiums on the river, downtown, and can't imagine moving back to the suburbs. We are in the center of everything - walk to Jaguar football, walk to the theatre, walk to the Symphony, walk to art musuems, walk to restaurants, walk miles along the river!!
