Buying a short sale in Monterey County is a thought many people have entertained. It is true short salesare dominating the real estate market right now. Monterey County is faced with hundreds even thousands of homeowners who can no longer afford their property. For a buyer as well as a seller, there are positive and negative aspects of trying to purchase or sell a short sale property.

This is a picture my husband and I took on Fisherman's Wharf a couple of nights ago...gorgeous moon over Monterey Bay. The wharf was alive with local fisherman and kids were on the docks fishing....and enjoying the evening. Monterey Bay Aquarium has extended Saturday and Sunday hours until 8 p.m. where you can explore the aquarium and listen to Jazz Festival players. It is a great way to spend the evening where the crowds are less and the magical sights of the aquarium and the out of this world view from the back deck will take your breath away. Time (1 comments)

Monterey County Real Estate Sales Statistics as of 08-19-2010. Sales of single family residences in Monterey County for July 2010: 286 sales at a median sales price of $245,000. This compared to last year where there were 363 total sales in the month of July at a median sales price of $219,000. The good news is that it appears that the median sales price has gone up. June of 2010 saw 328 sales at a median price of $250,000 June 2009 475 sales with a median sales price of $205,000.

Help I owe more than my house is worth..is this you? If it is, you are not alone. Many people bought houses at unbelievably high prices in Monterey County and now they do not know where to turn. The mortgage is too high, the expenses are choking their finances and they don't know what to do. The banks are sending notices, which go unopened, the mortgage is not getting paid, the creditors are calling all day...it is not fun. Monterey County Fair is coming on September 1. There are free concerts and special days for the duration of the fair which runs September 1-6. Weds September 1 is kids day..kids 12 and under get in free all day Thurs September 2 is Seniors Day 65+ get in for $3.00 Friday September 3 is Military Appreciation Day all active military get in free Saturday Sept 4th is Junior Livestock Auction day and Sunday is Fiesta day with entertainment from noon-6:00 p.m. Monterey County Fair is a small fair, but I have always enjoyed seeing all of the exhibits, livestock, and eating the (1 comments)
