The cities proximity to the ocean offers an abundance of recreational activities. There is an 18 mile Monterey-Bay Coastal Recreation Trail which welcomes walkers, bikers, and joggers. Year round whale watching, kayaking, deep sea fishing, (4 comments)

Buying a home in Monterey County at this time is not only affordable, it may make sense for you. I have been showing many houses under $300,000. There are some great deals on homes up to $500,000. If you have the down payment of 3-5%, good credit and the desire to buy a home in Monterey County, now may be the right time for you.
