I see in the Monterey County real estate market, that properties are selling.  Prices are down, but they are not going down every week.  It seems to have stabilized.  It is a great time for buyers...If you have contemplated buying a home in Monterey County...don't wait prices are great and interest rates are at an all time low.

WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE HOUSING MARKET IN MONTEREY CALIFORNIA/

Your best way at predicting the future is looking at the present. Specifically, what is happening with housing now.
We thought we were insulated...this would never happen in Monterey County...prices would never go down.  Foreclosures in this country were very rare....then everything changed, prices bottomed out, many people were upside down on their mortgages....vacation homes, and second homes, investment properties did not make sense anymore...so, we saw many homes go on the market for prices make home ownership in Monterey County attractive.
