Is It Possible That HOME Prices Will Continue To Fall In Monterey County? - 10/28/11 04:33 PM
IS IT POSSIBLE THAT HOME PRICES WILL CONTINUE TO FALL IN MONTEREY COUNTY

Good question and one that is on the mind of home buyers in Monterey County.  Should I buy now?  Should I wait? Does buying really make better sense than renting?

I wrote a recent post on saving for a down payment to buy a home:

While finances are huge, and I educate home buyers on the importance of the financial part of it, that should not be your only deciding factor if your finances are in place.

How Do I Save For A Downpayment On A House On The Monterey Peninsula? - 10/25/11 03:47 PM
HOW DO I SAVE FOR A DOWNPAYMENT ON A HOUSE ON THE MONTEREY PENINSULA?

I hear this question all the time...how do I save for a downpayment on a house?  We are having enough trouble paying for all of our expenses....But guess what?
YOU CAN DO IT...
You hear the news all around  you..interest rates are down..prices have never been better....Yes, it is all true.
But, if you don't have a down payment..you really can't take advantage of this great market.  One of the greatest hurdles to home buying is coming up with the down payment.  I hope this can … (2 comments)

Advice for Sellers: The One Question You Must Ask Your REALTOR® - 10/22/11 11:41 AM
When putting your home on the market..be realistic about price.  Know what your motivation is for selling, convey that to your REALTOR..and then listen.  If your motivation does not match the true reality of the market..then wait.  Overpricing a home will do nothing to sell it.  All it will do is keep you in a state of angst, having people coming through....and you will get offers that reflect what the market will bear.
As your REALTOR, I may not tell you what you want to hear...but I will tell you the truth. If you don't want to really sell your house...best … (4 comments)

Pebble Beach Home Prices - 10/20/11 01:42 PM
Pebble Beach Home Prices

Pebble Beach, California has long been a highly sought after destination.  While best known for it's luxxury resorts and world class golf courses, it is a great place to live.

One of the great things about this area is that one must enter one of five guard gates in Carmel or Pacific Grove for access to this deligtful haven.

Although Pebble Beach has grown since I moved there in 1965, some things are timeless in this enchanted forest.  The ocean still crashes on the rugged rocks, one can still walk or ride … (0 comments)

New Laws Help Those Facing A Short Sale - 10/11/11 06:43 PM
SB 458, which ensures that any lender that agrees to a short sale must accept the agreed-upon short-sale payment as payment in full of the outstanding balance of all loans, was signed into law in July.  Since then, many of you have had questions about the specifics of anti-deficiency guidelines for short sales.  C.A.R.’s Member Legal Services has prepared a great Q&A to help answer some of the questions people may have.

Homes For Sale In Carmel California
The village of Carmel-By-The-Sea is often referred to as "Carmel".  This village occupies one square mile of land.
The unincorporated Carmel Valley extends 12  miles inland from Carmel.  The Carmel Highlands Community is also unincorporated, bordered by Point Lobos State Reserve (and Carmel) to the north and Big Sur to the south.
Located south of Monterey, this community is very walkable.  More than 60 courtyards hide amongst stylish inns, boutiques, galleries and restaurants.  Arts and history infuse Carmel-By-The-Sea.

Homeowner’s Insurance – When Was the Last Time You Checked Your Coverage? - 10/05/11 11:26 AM
Homeowner's Insurance is something we take for granted...most of us buy it when we purchase our home, then we forget about it.  What are your coverages?  would you be proteccted fully if a disaster happened?
This post is tought provoking and I recommend everyone check your policy, go over your coverages with your agent...you may be under-insured, you may be over-insured.
Don't find out the hard way....

A perfect place for a vacation home.  Many homes in this artist's colony are second homes.  owners of vacation rentals will find that they have a year round opportunity to rent.  Carmel's weather is about the same year round..very comfortable and pleasant.
Carmel is a pet friendly town...many great places to stay or dine with your favorite four legged friend.  The best pet friendly spot is the Cypress Inn owned by Doris Day.
