"All The News That's Fit To Print and Some Not So Fit to Print"

We opened this weeks meeting with a very touching prayer by Bob Bell who thanked everyone who attended Charlotte's Funeral. Our heartfelt sympathies to Bob and his family.  Steven Pollack then led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and Greg Mills got the Oktoberfest mood going with our first "Roll Out the Barrel" of the season.

How to Save Money on Your Home in the Hot Season... - 07/17/09 05:30 PM
Make sure that you air conditioner is in good working order.  Have the filters cleaned, or replace them.  You can take the old one to a hardware store and ask for a replacement.  Also make sure that the insulation on the connections to the compressor is in tact.  Clean out any leaves or debris on the compressor.  Make sure that the condensate pipes are draining properly as well.  Buy fans-Installing ceiling fans and using portable fans are great methods for cutting back the heat inside your home and they are also less expensive to run than an air conditioner. Finally A Bit of Good News. - 07/17/09 03:42 PM
Great to see a headline that says the median value rised 6.4 % in June from May.  This was due to the fact that the high-end properties selling are making up a greater share of the closed sales in the housing market.  For the details go to http://link.latimes.com/r/S462P8/DQC5N/3C3YFJ/EGAV/6VS1NN/ID/t.  and real Peter. Hong's article from the L.A. Times.

Can you do anything to lower your home insurance? - 07/10/09 05:50 PM
Usually there are some things you can do that might reduce your payments.  If you have a pool with a diving board or slide, that might add to your premium.  Also, we have had some clients with wood burning stoves...and that too might make a difference.  Some insurance companies also give discounts when a home owner installs a good alarm system, which gives a homeowner some added protection.  Think about combining your auto insurance with your homeowner's insurance for the best rates.  Lastly, don't forget to call your insurance agent when you've remodeled or upgraded your property.  You want to make … (0 comments)

When is an auction not an auction?
Auction:  The definition of an Auction from the American Heritage Dictionary is:  A public sale in which property or items of merchandise are sold to the highest bidder.  Recently all of us in California have been seeing notices of Auction of Property-sometimes just a few houses or parcels of land and sometimes thousands of houses.  Because of the economic climate of our times, most of us when we read, hear, go to an auction, think we are going to get a "deal", a "bargain" or something under market value.
Recently one of our local … (4 comments)
