Just when you thought the credit score reporting process couldn't get more confusing for consumers, some major changes have taken place in the last year with the roll out of the new FICO score model known as FICO 08. I've always encouraged people to be proactive in addressing and fixing any credit challenges (3 comments)

Service...LOL - 06/22/09 11:46 AM
This came to me today via email. I strive to offer real service (not in the sense of the bull either), but I had to laugh at this one. I hope you enjoy. I became confused when I heard the word 'service' used with these agencies.Internal Revenue 'Service'U.S. Postal 'Service'Telephone 'Service'Cable TV 'Service'Civil 'Service'State, City, County & Public 'Service'Customer 'Service'This is not what I thought 'service' meant. But today, I overheard two farmers talking, and one of them said he had hired a bull to'service' a few cows. BAM!!! It all came into focus. Now I understand what all those agencies are doing to us. (7 comments)
Understanding FICO - 06/16/09 10:43 AM
Understanding FICO Lending is FICO driven. This is even more relevant in the risked based climate of our industry. Therefore, the more you understand about FICO the better you will be suited to use credit and use it at a more favorable interest rate. In this brief article I will be discussing FICO scoring. We will try to understand the factors that lead the score on your credit report. FICO stands for Fair Isaac Corporation of America. FICO is a publicly-traded corporation (under the symbol "FIC") that created the best-known and most widely used credit score model in the United (0 comments)

Changes to the Neighborhood Stabilization Program - 06/15/09 02:05 PM
This is the program that offers Federal grant money to repair foreclosed homes in targeted areas of Port Huron. Two key changes have come into effect. 1. Appraisals have been waived on foreclosed properties in the target areas of Port Huron with a value of less than $25,000. 2. Purchase prices on homes over $25,000 still need an appraisal, but the purchase price has to only be 1% less than the appraised value. Appraisals must be done within 60 days of the offer. For more information on this product or any other please do not hesitate to give me a call. Lester (0 comments)

Scam Alert... - 06/15/09 12:23 PM
Agents beware I am being told of the following scam in MI.
At an open house, be alert to visitors’ comings and goings, especially near the end of showing hours. Police have reported groups of criminals that target open houses, showing up en masse near the end of the afternoon. While several "clients" distract the Realtor, others go through the house and steal anything they can quickly take. (1 comments)
The survey said... By a two to one majority, you asked for a trip on the Huron Lady II.
If you did not get your card, the trip is planned for THURSDAY, June 18th. That is this coming Thursday.
We can board the "Lady" at 6:10 PM. Sailing time is 6:30 PM SHARP!
For just $20 per person you can spend a couple hours remembering one of the most positive features of living here in "River City", our waterfront. There will be a coupon for each passenger for a hot dog & chips. Cash bar is (0 comments)
Just A Thought... - 06/15/09 11:51 AM
"When America had symbols of Liberty and Republicanism on it's currency, we were free. The bad stuff started happening when we began putting dead politicians on our money. But, you'll know when things get to it's worst point, when they start putting living politicians on it." I am not sure who the author of this quote is, but it is thought provoking! (0 comments)

Don't Stop Digging... - 06/10/09 09:03 PM
I once heard a story of a man who sold all he owned and used the capital to head West to try his fortune in gold. He litterally poured all of his energy and means in to striking it rich in the gold rush. After many months of exhausting and back breaking gold mining with very little to show for it, he decided to give up and called it quits. Discouraged, he sold all of his equipment to a new comer. Upon taking over the new comer struck one of the largest gold claims in U.S. History. He only dug one (0 comments)
Encouraging Poem - 06/10/09 08:14 PM
The industry is challenging right now, so it is good to read words of encouragement. I have always loved this poem. "When things go wrong as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all up hill, When the funds are low and the debts are high And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest if you must, but don't you quit. Life is queer with its twists and turns, As every one of us sometimes learns, And many a failure turns about When he might have won had (0 comments)

Thanks to the Real Estate Agents in St. Clair County... - 06/09/09 11:13 AM
I was reviewing my closed business this past week and was reminded how important the local agents in St. Clair County are to me. Upon looking reviewing my last one hundred closed loans I noticed that 85%+ of my business came from local real estate agents. As I went through these deals I was also reminded that how professional they are and enjoyable the local agents are to work. We have a great group of agents in the Blue Water Area and I am proud to work with them. Thank you. (1 comments)
