Dataquick reported earlier this year that over 30% of all new and resale houses and condos sold statewide were bought with cash.  I would venture to guess that a lot of those sales were from "vulture fund" investors who bought distressed bank homes and intend to fix them up and resell these properties in their portfolio for a quick profit this year. This is why we are seeing the same sellers currently overpricing their listings, because the distressed homes that were updated (and bought by those cash investors in the last year) are now putting those homes back into the market currently. Did … (3 comments)

Are you having a green day or a red day? One might think I’m talking about the red or green day diet, which suggests we eat red or green fruits and vegetables on certain days.  Sorry, although that may be a great way to lose weight, it’s not what I was referring to. Nope, actually I’m talking about how the talking heads affect how we look at stocks in our finances.
