For those of us who love eating out and trying new places, the fourth annual Long Island Restaurant Week is almost here!

This year Long Island Restaurant Week will take place from Sunday, November 1st through Sunday, November 8th.

Again, the three course prix fixe for $24.95 per person all night, except for Saturday until 7 PM; will be offered by many participating restaurants.

This Saturday, September 26th, Rock The Harvest Festival at Pindar Vineyards will take place from 12:00 - 6:00 PM.

$20 per person includes entertainment & first glass of wine!

Last Fall I visited Pindar Vineyards with relatives, and we had a great time tasting their many wonderful wines.

Pindar wines are some of my favorite Long Island wines.

Can you believe that last Thursday evening, I went to my first baseball game ever? Out of the blue, someone handed me four free tickets to attend a Long Island Ducks game.

Long Island has its own baseball team, and the Long Island Ducks it is! They play at Citibank Park, Central Islip, Long Island, at their own stadium.

We had quite a lot of fun, although, to be honest I am so clueless about baseball that I could never tell who was winning!

The Long Island Ducks were playing against the Camden Riversharks, a visiting team from New Jersey.

It turned out that the Ducks won!

That is my daughter with QuackerJack, the team's mascot!

The evening went by quickly, between my attempts to follow the game and my many trips to the concession stands for a bite to eat or something to drink.

Thank you for the tickets! I am looking forward to my next game!

Color and form are important to me.

Dare I say, that I have good taste? If you are like me, and most people that I know; you probably think that you have good taste too. A bit of a grandiose belief about ourselves. But, hey, we are talking healthy egos here.

That is why, recently, I went into color shock. I can't tell you what color, where, why or how. But It was nature inspired, and I gasped for fresh air in the process.

There is something to be said for understated hues and neutrals. Please bring back beige. Boring, but so much more soothing to sensitive eyes.

Especially if the home is for sale. This is no time to exert your individuality.
