Time's Running Out....for the $8,000 First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit. - 09/28/09 10:37 PM
The first time Homebuyer's Tax Credit is leaving....unless congress acts to re-up or renew the program.  Right now there are three different bills before congress, but they've been before congress since February.  Nothing's happened......SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Time's running out!  You need to close in the month of November of, yes, this year, in 2009 in order to take advantage of the bill that's before us.  Needless to say....That means you need to get under contract NOW!!!!!    I'm not a pushy dude, but let's be honest.  The government hasn't printed money like this for first time homebuyers ever.
Here are some great facts that … (7 comments)

OK....so this song is 80's, but I can't get it out of my mind. - 09/28/09 09:53 AM
I love great music. I used to be a DeeJay at the number one college station in the United States when I was in college. I sucked when I started, but eventually I got better. My friends used to listen to me and they'd drink everytime I screwed the pooch while deejaying. I got better and they stayed sober. But...in the meantime, I got some darn good music. One of my all time favorites.... … (12 comments)

Speechless Sundays - On Grandpa's Boat - 09/27/09 09:27 PM

OK....so this isn't speechless.  Here's the 3rd of 5.  She's my little girlfriend.  Anyway, this summer, after the 4th of July, we went with grandpa across Lake Michigan.  It was so  awesome.  On the way back, Grandpa stopped the boat and let the kids jump off and go swimming in the middle of the lake.  Door County was awesome, but the highlight was swimming off of Grandma and Grandpa's Boat in the middle of the Lake....how cool is that?

Dave Ramsey - say it ain't so!! - 09/25/09 09:47 AM
This stuff needs to be out there.  Consumers can't have bad advice.  He may be good, but Dave Ramsey missed it here.
Via Lewis Poretz - expert mortgage advice:
Let me begin this post with this disclaimer…. THIS IS NOT AN ATTACK ON DAVE RAMSEY -  he is an idol of mine… I have purchased his products and believe in what he is all about….   This is simply the facts on how their endorsed agents handle consumers and how Dave Ramsey personnel handle complaints…..

I am a huge fan of Dave Ramsey... honestly, he doesn't preach anything we don't already … (6 comments)

Standing Up Against Big Government - 09/21/09 10:36 PM
Preventative Cardiology calls for tea.  I love brewed Tea..... Well on Labor Day weekend. I had plenty of Tea.  I went to my first Tea Party in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.  I have to say though that I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of people that don't want government run healthcare, big government and just the big brother mentality.  Needless to say, this wasn't a Republican thing.  There were a ton of Dems there that hate big government and the government run healthcare.  The best line?
There was a black minister from Milwaukee who was about 38 years old.  He gave a … (13 comments)

How Do You......???? Make a Fan Page on Facebook? - 09/21/09 02:28 PM
OK....I'm thinking about creating a fan page.  Noooooo, I'm not that big enough yet, but I have an idea to sponsor something of which a fan page can be created.  I finally get this whole social networking thing and am trying to figure this stuff out.  I just came back from the Building Champion's Experience and was blown away by Michael Hyatt.  Needless to say....time for me to create a fan page.  You'll all be invited to become a fan, but the question is......
Can anyone show me how to create a Fan Page on Facebook?

Social Media is Changing so Fast....change with it or be LEFT BEHIND! - 09/21/09 08:34 AM
Check this out. I've been to two conferences in the last three months. This stuff is insane. Look at the stats. It was a real wake up call for me. Even though, I've only dallied with social networking and SEO, the times are a changing. Just powerful stuff to say the least. I'm speaking on this as well next week. The world is changing so fast, but if we don't change with it, we will be left behind. If you're not in the social media, you're out of the game. Get in it. … (7 comments)

You want to Know How Fast the World Is Changing? - 09/21/09 08:27 AM
Check this out. I've been to two conferences in the last three months. Both times I saw a version of this it just freaked me out. What's amazing is that if Facebook was a country it would be the 4th largest in the world. I'm going to talk about this in a future post, but for those who don't embrace social media, you will be left in the dust. It's scary. Next year, for the first time ever, Gen Y will outnumber Babyboomers. Embrace the change or be left looking for a new job. … (3 comments)

Building Champion's Experience - - - More Than Just an Experience!!! - 09/21/09 08:15 AM
I'm on the plane right now.  I just finished my trip at The Building Champions experience.  To call it awesome would be one of the greatest understatements of my year in lending.  The experience went from Wednesday through ½ of Saturday.
The Building Champions Experience was designed to strike at the core of your being.  It was meant to really do a few major things.  In this market, it's so imperative that people are on the top of their game if they're going to capitalize on the conditions before us.  Brian Buffini says that more millionaires are made during a recession … (4 comments)

I'm at a Building Champions Retreat Right Now!!!! - 09/17/09 12:28 AM
Off to the building Champions Experience!  Starting it Today!  Very stoked to tap into the potential that Building Champions seems to bring out for those who need accountability to move forward.  It's always been my belief that the most successful people in our business are held accountable so that the goals before us are actually achieved.
I was a huge Brian Buffini freak for years.  I was coached by them and, I must say that they were the people who got me to really dig down to set some major goals.  I mean Todd Duncan, was the first, but that came … (5 comments)

Speechless Sunday - Future NFL players start with heroes and a backyard!!!! - 09/13/09 11:57 AM
This is just a great weekend for a dad like me.  Football starts and I have my two oldest who are finally "SO IN" that I have to make them focus on studies before football.  Here they are one week prior to their first official practice.  They each got some under armour at the U.A. Outlet.  They think that the new Uni's will improve their game.....the boys heroes are on the bottom of this page.

300,000 Points and 43 referrals later.....IT'S ALL GOOD! - 09/10/09 08:40 AM
OK....I'm there....FINALLY THE MONKEY IS OFF MY BACK.  I'm real.  I really am a part of Active Rain.
I guess that I've always had my eyes set on the 300,000 point number ever since joining Active Rain two and 1/2 years ago.  My story is simple.  I'm a net neophyte who was dragged into Active Rain kicking and screaming.  I was told that this was the wave of the future.  I was told that it was a great way to get your name out on the net.  I relented and moved forward in stupidity and angst as I struggled to learn … (91 comments)

Not So Wordless Wednesday - First Day of School for my 4th - 09/09/09 08:44 PM
OK, so maybe this won't last more than a week, but for one day my 3rd son, my 4th child overall was living life large going to see his friends in school.  I know that will change in the future, but for today, we had a great time.  Of course mom spruced him up a bit and on the bottom photo he got to keep his favorite GREEN BAY PACKER BACKPACK.  I mean if the Packers are for us, who can be against us?

Fined $3,800 for not carrying health insurance...... - 09/09/09 01:39 PM
OK...so here's the latest breaking news last night.
Americans would be fined up to $3,800 for failing to buy health insurance under a plan that circulated in Congress on Tuesday as divisions among Democrats undercut President Barack Obama's effort to regain traction on his health care overhaul.
As Obama talked strategy with Democratic leaders at the White House, the one idea that most appeals to his party's liberal base lost ground in Congress. Prospects for a government-run plan to compete with private insurers sank as a leading moderate Democrat, Sen. Max Baucus of Montana, said he could no longer support the … (7 comments)

Senator Rogers tells us why Obamacare Can't work! - 09/09/09 12:41 PM
. This really sums up the new plan for Obamacare. It's now to the point that independents don't want this bill either. Tomorrow is the new sales pitch from Obama on this. Watch this and make sure that your educated as to what's acceptable for the American People. We need to fix healthcare, but you can't sink a ship to save the vast minority. You keep working to fix what you have. You don't punish the supermajority. Independents now see the problem as well. … (2 comments)

Finally Someone Get's Part of the Health Care Bill Right - 09/08/09 04:39 PM
On Tuesday, the Senate health committee voted 12-11 in favor of a two-page amendment courtesy of Republican Tom Coburn that would require all Members and their staffs to enroll in any new government-run health plan. Yet all Democrats - with the exceptions of acting chairman Chris Dodd, Barbara Mikulski and Ted Kennedy via proxy - voted nay. It took me less than a minute to sign up to require our congressmen and senators to drink at the same trough!  Three cheers for Congressman John Fleming of Louisiana and the 3 Democrats that are trying to think as the American People Think.  Congressman … (16 comments)

Wordless Wednesdays - Mom and My 3 Oldest Screaming with Fun!!!!! - 09/02/09 03:52 PM
Had a great time up in Wisconsin this past week.  We went to a little festival.  It was kinduva a hick, back woods kind of a carnival.  It was a blast!!!  Needless to say the white knuckles of Mom and kids speaks volumes for itself....even before the smiling faces.  Great times had by all and as a dad watching and taking pictures, I couldn't be any more pleased either.

Wordless Wednesdays - A Dad's first Love - 09/02/09 09:05 AM
Here's my girlfriend.  I call her Tessa B....or a/k/a.... "The B".  We're going to a Kane County Cougars triple a or single a or some kinda A baseball game.  A few brats (as in bratwursts, not BRATS), and a beer or two, and we were off on the date.  She's my dream, but she sure had a good time and slept well that night!

Are Your Interpersonal Skills Affected by Your SEO Obsession? - 09/01/09 02:48 PM
OK....so your obsessed.  Quite frankly, I'm obsessed as well.  I really never thought that I'd grow into this stuff called "internet marketing, Facebook, Twitter, Active Rain etc.  However 2 years and 40 referrals later it's really hard to argue with a good thing.  You see, what was once a novel idea has really become a business plan.  I've received over $9,000 worth of income since joining Facebook this year.  I have dropped my webpage as I hated paying for it when Active Rain was giving me so much more.  Many people believe that I'm spending so much more on Active Rain … (4 comments)

What You Need to Know about Credit Scoring - 09/01/09 07:39 AM
Credit is one of THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUES IN getting a loan today.
My client tell me all the time that "I PAY MY BILLS ON TIME, BUT MY PEOPLE SAY MY CREDIT STINKS.  Maybe I'll just pay off my credit cards today.....Noooooooooooooo!!!!!!"
Truthfully, there is more to a credit score than just making your payments on time or paying off your credit.  In fact paying off all your credit today could be a bad move.  Needless to say, I've broken this down so that the complexities of mortgage credit scoring can be understood by the consumer.  I reference this a lot … (44 comments)
