Where do you Rank in the Rain????? - 07/29/10 09:42 AM
I got to tell you that I love the new rankings page! I contacted A.R. a year ago saying that it'd be great to see.  What I always thought is that it'd be so great to see the top 10 or top 100 all over Active Rain.  I sent that in and, I forgot about it.  Needless to say, one year later.....here it is.
I'M AMAZED AT ALL THE TOP DOGS WHO I NEVER KNEW EXISTED The reason that I wanted this feature is that I can see who the top dogs are and find some people who I may never … (11 comments)

Wordless Wednesdays - Puppy Love - A dog and a girl - 07/28/10 01:26 PM

Donny Osmond had it right when he sang that old song "and they called it Puppy Love."  It seems to me that it's the best statement ever for Tessa and Otto!  Otto is only 15 months old, but between the two of them, you're looking at two great pups!  How cool is this stuff.  You couldn't write it any better.  Not sure if Tessa loves Otto more or Otto loves being loved more.  Neither seems to care.....both seem happy!

Today's Market Watch - 07/28/10 10:27 AM
As forwarded on to me by a trusted colleague....the bias today is toward's floating, and not locking.
"Mortgage Bonds continue to push up against formidable resistance at all-time highs for the 9th consecutive session but are off their best levels.
At 1:00pm ET, the Treasury will announce the results from today's $37B 5-Year Note auction. Yesterday's $38B in 2-Years was decent, but today's auction does have a longer maturity and the results could impact trading when released.
At 2:00pm ET, the Fed will release their Beige Book, which is a gathering of "anecdotal information on current economic conditions" by each … (3 comments)

What the Dodd-Frank Reform Act Means to CONSUMERS & LENDERS!!!! - 07/27/10 12:22 PM
No doubt you have heard some chatter, some factual and some false, about how the Dodd-Frank (Financial Reform) Act will alter the way in which lenders can compensate loan officers in the future. Let's address some of the facts based on the actual language in the law, keeping in mind that the provisions in the law will be the subject of new regulations which will be issued in the future and will likely contain additional details and may come from an interpretation of the law different than we expect.  In short, there will be modifications that are both positive and negative.  What … (4 comments)

Rules, Rules, Rules.....oh, by the way.....MORE RULES!- - - - I JUST WANT TO SERVE MY CLIENT!!!! - 07/26/10 12:01 PM
I want to blog and post more posts, but the reality is that I'm spending more and more time learning and learning and being so "damn defensive," that it's hard to serve.  Now don't get me wrong, but take a few moments and listen to my story.
I am a mortgage banker, but I've always been an attorney.  A licensed real estate attorney.  I have to abide by the code of ethics in order to remain a member of the Illinois Bar.  This means that I can't do things that are illegal, but I also, on top of everything, must adhere to … (41 comments)

I Was Being Judged by the Way I looked!!!! And it was fun for a few days!!!! - 07/20/10 09:38 AM

I always try to dress professionally in my nine to five job.  Actually, my job is more 7:30 til 9:00 pm.  I carry myself in a professional manner and am rarely walking the streets of my local community naked.
Most of the time, I wear working casual clothes, but never anything really atrocious unless I'm up on my farm in Wisconsin.  Needless to say, since I live in the community that I work in, I try to be transparent, but always professional.  Even when I dress down, I still carry myself as a servant in the community as best I can.

I Saw Mike Ditka Yesterday and he was AWESOME!!!!! - 07/19/10 11:55 AM
DITKA, THE INTRODUCTION!!!! So, my sister, Linda, went to and graduated from Rosary High School in Aurora.  Her daughter, my niece, goes there as a student.
My mom and dad, a good supporters of great education, ask my wife and I, and my sister and her husband, and my other brother, Eric, and his wife, if we want to join them for a fundraiser at Rosary High School.
Growing up an avid Green Bay Packer fan, this was still the easiest no brainier in the history of sports.  I love the Packers, but I loved "Da Coach."

Wordless Wednesdays - Mom, & Lake Michigan on the 4th of July - 07/14/10 03:02 PM

You know what I love about the 4th?  It's a holiday that just doesn't have any gifts, any presents, just celebration and gratitude.  It's awesome because you get to see, right here, that my wife and Grant, or "G" as I call him, are relishing the moment!  And in this case, it's moments!  A lot of fun here in Door County, Wisconsin during the summer.  All I can say is that it was one of a number of moments!  Happy 4th!

Why There Will Never Be another Auto Assembly Plant Built in the United States - 07/13/10 09:20 AM
There was a time that Unions were necessary.  I remember reading Upton Sinclair's, book "The Jungle" and thought about how horrendous America was to let workers operate in the conditions that were so prevalent in the days of the Chicago Stockyards.
Flash forward to 2010.  The balance of power has switched so much that Chicago is on the verge of bankruptcy.  The Unions are killing conventioneering in Chicago.  Chicago used to be one of the top three convention centers in North America, but between Chicago having the highest retail tax in North America, and the Unions chokehold on the economic flow, … (14 comments)

Mortgage Myth Busters goes "Live" TODAY!!!!! - 07/12/10 09:56 AM
Finally, a solution exists for realtors and consumers alike.  A long time in planning and processing, a great group of originators has launched Mortgage Myth Busters.  As one of the original members, I've seen the work that the great leaders in this group have done to disseminate timely, quality and accurate information regarding mortgage lending.

Check out www.mortgagemythbusters.com.  This group is different than other national forums as they don't revolve around one person and a huge marketing team.  Instead, this group decided that they're so sick of mis-information and dis-information that they'd get rid of the individual ego and present … (10 comments)

Speechless Sundays - Family Mohawks!!!!! - 07/11/10 11:21 PM

This was my favorite year during the 4th EVER!  We love letting our hair down and getting away.  This year, however, my kids begged me to get a mohawk with them.  I argued against it, but I have to tell you I wanted one.  When they told me that I wouldn't see anyone I knew because we were going out of town, I was all in.  For the first time in my life, I was sporting a pretty cool Mohawk!  I started grabbing the persona as well!  You should've seen me with my mirror polaroid lenses.  I was one bad … (27 comments)

After you apply for a mortgage.....Don't move til after close! - 07/08/10 10:49 AM
Here's the deal Your credit will be re-pulled prior to closing!  Book it! Bank on it! Expect it! Last month we had about 1500 closings and two issues came up prior to closing.  One person had new credit because of a recent purchase and the other person had just "looked" into obtaining credit.  The real issue is this.  Don't do anything once you've applied for a loan.  After you've gone to closing,
then you can go purchase items til they come through your wazoo, but until then....
Fogettaboutit!  Recently, I've seen companies getting bit in the butt by this new rule.  … (63 comments)

I'm the Regional Vice President of Cherry Creek Mortgage.  I am so grateful to the fact that I work at such a great company.  I have been blessed in the fact that I have signed on about 13+ branches in my short tenure as Vice President.   Just last week, I was fortunate enough to sign on a stellar branch in Des Moines, Iowa, and received, this past weekend a committment from a ONE BILLION DOLLAR OPERATION IN OHIO.
As for Cherry Creek Mortgage, Here's the deal....

Active Rain and Russian Spies - Now Active Rain is in Crime Fighting!!!! - 07/01/10 10:22 AM
Did Anyone see the Nightline bit on Tuesday night about the Russian Spies.  They went through a number of people, but then went on to talk about Ann Foley.
THEN THEY SCROLL ACROSS THE PAGE OF ACTIVE RAIN THAT HAS ANN FOLEY'S PROFILE!!!!! Home : Massachusetts : Middlesex County : Cambridge : Ann Foley 980 Points
They say that Ann Foley isn't a Montreal native, but a Russian Spy! Pretty Amazing seeing Active Rain on Nightline.  What a way for Active Rain to be used to watch and spy on those who are just one level below espionage.  Amazing!  I usually … (13 comments)
