Democracy??? A Quick History Lesson - 07/31/12 07:55 PM
This was shared with me by a fellow co-worker. It really is educational as to what our government was set up to be by the founding fathers. I hate watching a 10 minute video, but I will tell you that this one really is worth it. In the end, it scares me the path that our country and government is heading. I've been nervous through both party administrations. Now, things seem to be escalating.
I warn you that it is 10 minutes, but it really is a high school government class video. A really good 101. Let me know what you … (2 comments)

Ready To Work for Another Mortgage Company? - 07/30/12 06:14 AM
Tired of working so hard at your current company and beating your head against a wall?  My thoughts are that we work too hard in this business to not get our deals closed and to not get paid.  I work really hard, but I close my deals and get paid.  I get paid well for what I do.
Our culture is such that people don't leave our company.  We're a privately held company.  Needless to say, we're owned by a few great leaders, but priomarily by ex- U.S. Senator Bill Armstrong.  What makes us unique in culture is our PURPOSE....

Speechless Sundays - A very Patriotic Summer - 07/29/12 02:47 PM
It's been a great summer!  I had a great friend of mine give my kids some nice patriotic wear!  This was such a fun summer.  So...we had to take a picture to capture the moment.  Even in our brutal heat....my kids had to throw the big sweaty hats on.  It's been a lot of fun, but here's one event that we wanted to capture for our summer!!!!
Thougt it was so appropriate with the Olympics......Go U.S.A!!!!

Friday Night Tunes - The Most Inspirational Performance Ever - 07/27/12 09:08 PM
I was in Denver this week, listening to some radio station when the DJ tells the story about a guy by the name of George Dennehy. He was born with no arms. His story, from what I hear, is that he applied for a major college music scholarship. I saw this video and it's absolutely incredible. In any event....Here's George Dennehy doing his rendition of IRIS from the Goo Goo Dolls. … (13 comments)

FIO's Pizza - The Best in the Fox Valley - 07/25/12 02:19 PM
Everyone is a snob about something.  Me????  It's not Pizza, but I will say that I LOVE Pizza so much that I can tell you when the Pizza is extraordinary, just OK, or sometimes it just downright sucks.
Now comes Fio's Pizza in Saint Charles.  It's loacated in Wasco, Illinois, just a few miles west of Randall Road at the corner of LaFox Road and Route 64.  I order every week for my office.  There are 3 pizza places within about 1/2 mile of each other.  I wasn't sure why they came out to compete.  But the friendly expedient service and … (4 comments)

Active Rain Volume is the Key to Referrals - 07/19/12 09:47 AM
Over the last 2 weeks, I have received 7 calls from Active Rain for a mortgage.  That includes purchases and refinances.  I'm blown away and, quite frankly, it's quite amazing.  In any event....I got to thinking that it really stuns me for one reason in particular.
I have been very inconsistent in my Active Rain posting....at best. Most people know that an electrical storm totally fried my internet at home.  It took 2 months for it to get back up properly (without 5 minutes for a page to load).  It takes 3 weeks to create a habit.  Two months without home … (59 comments)

Friday Night Tunes - Def Leppard! - 07/13/12 08:58 PM
So I'm sitting here thinking about a great Friday Night Tune. Can you say that it's great to have a Friday Night? I love it! In any event, I'm sitting here listening to some classics. The best of the best! Here's an all time Rock and Roll Favorite. Rock of Ages by Def Leppard … (10 comments)

1100 Pages for 2 Disclosures??? - 07/10/12 09:19 AM
So the CFPB or the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau hereinafter know as the CFPB or a renegade authority that is accountable to absolutely no one....has created an 1,100 page rule to deal with Good Faith Estimates and the Truth in Lending statements.  I feel like just ending this blog post here, but we're probably all used to the government going to extremes to waste our time, and money.  The issue here is that a new bill was put in place a year and a half ago, for the first time in over 40 years to deal with this.
A new agency … (12 comments)

Speechless Sundays - Door County over the 4th! - 07/08/12 06:01 PM
So I can't tell you how awesome it was to be in Door County over the 4th of July.  We had a blast and we threw the best fireworks display in Door County this year.  13 years and counting.  With our firework's permit we had over $8,000 worth of fireworks and 300 people in attendance.  3 Yachts watching from the bay as well.  It'll be hard to top next year, but somehow we'll find a way.  We always do!  Here's the sunset from the night before!

How will the 2nd Half of Your 2012 be Different? Or Will it? - 07/07/12 06:57 AM
I had set my goals to double my income in 2012.  So.....it comes as no surprise that June 30th was such a defining moment in my year.  Year to date, I'm just a smidge under my goal of doubling my income this year.
That's HUGE for me for two reasons.
First, the first quarter is always the lowest income part of the year.  So it stands true that I'm probably on pace to exceed my goals for 2012.
Secondly, it means that I've made the right adjustments this year and that I really need to clamp down on making and hitting … (10 comments)

What I would do for my $500 Marketing Budget - 07/05/12 08:52 PM
OK....so this is going to be short and sweet.  First, I'm not a realtor so I, for one, did not partake in the survey of the 2,000 realtors.  In any event, my $500 that I spend comes to me as a result from what I did with my realtor partner.  There are the two most important things for $500 per month:
1)  Client Appreciation Parties - Seriously...I don't need to do it each month, but I will tell you that a quarterly event is huge.  That's $1,500 per quarter.  Mouths and face to face meetings are the best way to grow … (8 comments)
