blogging: Blogging in the Rain Pays Dividends! Why do you? - 10/09/13 01:17 PM
I keep thinking of all of these topics to post about.  But invariably you're so much better if you have the "why" as to anything in life.  So, for me, I'm thinking to myself...."I know why I blog, but do you know why you blog?"  Like anything in life without a passion, it really becomes quite mundane or interest is lost.  Here are the reasons that I blog:
Active Rain Works - As of this date, I'm exactly at 124 referrals from Active Rain since I started posting.  I have so many consumer referrals that it's ridiculous.  I love being on … (14 comments)

blogging: Writing an Awesome Post..... - 12/11/11 03:24 AM
I've been coaching my friends to get Active in Active Rain.  My success has been well documented.  To date, since joining I'm now well over 90 referrals that I've received either through other members or via people planing in the rain.  Very stoked about my results, and, as a proponent, I push this often and hard.  I tell my people that Active Rain is one of the most valuable methods for getting exposure.  Since I lead a branch, as well as a team, I tell folks you need the best exposure out there, and Active Rain, by far, is it!
My folks … (40 comments)

blogging: Why are You Blogging, Facebooking, Twittering and Social Media-ING? - 08/30/11 08:14 AM
I'm a freak about business planning. Most people fail because they don't have a business plan. Did you know that over 90% of people in real estate don't have a business plan? Sooooooo, the business plan is paramount.
In the meantime, in my business plan, I have put down that I'd have 16 closings this year from SEO, Facebook, Active Rain, being a Twit on Twitter, etc. Needless to say, I'm on pace to hit it.
Because of Active Rain, I am receiving about one deal, not lead, but deal per week over the last 6 weeks. Since joining Active Rain, … (19 comments)

blogging: Why Should I Follow Your Blog? C'mon....I Really Want to! - 12/27/10 01:26 AM
Hey Rain Makers....who're some of your favorite folks to follow on Active Rain?  Why?  I'm kind of a snob when it comes to following people.  I don't wnat to follow just anyone.  But I do like to follow a lot of folks.  But what gets me to follow a blogger on the on the

blogging: Active Rain's Rapid Scroll - - - Picking a post to read without missing the good stuff!!!!! - 08/26/10 02:26 AM
I'm voracious when it comes to learning.  SEO and social marketing, I'm a bit naive on, but I still love to learn and read.  I know my business, but want to be cutting edge for guidelines and regulations and the direction of the mortgage market.
NOW COMES ACTIVE RAIN! Every day I want to read a certain amount of posts off of the blog scroll.  What's the issue?  Well there's a few.
With almost 200,000 members that scroll flies by in the blink of an eye.  I'll see two that I want to read and by the time I'm done with … (6 comments)

blogging: 500th Blog Post - 02/13/09 12:38 AM
This is a post that doesn't have a lot of meat in it.  I've been a member of Active Rain now for almost two years.  Today, I hit my 500th post.  That's 250 posts a year or between 5 and 6 per week.  I never thought that I'd last this long.  Nor did I think that I'd experience the success that I've achieved.  Needless to say, I'm ecstatic at where I'm atand grateful for all that has occurred while playing in the rain.  I love a little super group of mortgage people who are like iron sharpening iron forcing us all … (20 comments)

blogging: What I Learned on the Jason Crouch & Ken Cook Twitter Tuesday Radio Show!!! - 01/20/09 03:08 PM
What a great time today.  I have to admit that it was really a blender of mixed emotions.  Here are the competing interests.
First, I had challenge was re-arranging my schedule.  I've come to know Ken Cook, Ken "Yes You Can" Cook through a group that we each belong to.  Jason Crouch Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (512-796-7653) is someone who've I've come to know in a very peripheral way since joining the rain almost two years ago.  He's probably mostly known as being just a good guy, or a great guy, one of the greatest guys!  I saw the … (12 comments)

blogging: 300th post - 07/05/08 03:11 PM
Too cool....1.5 years on AR and now I've hit my 300th post.  Wish I had something profound to say, but after 300 posts, I'm really lax on any cogent and tangible new thoughts.  I could say that I have some great friends and that my life is so great b/c of AR.  Or I could say that I've gotten a lot of deals since joining AR (over 10).   But I'm not going to praise AR or any of the friends that have been created on AR.  Nope...not once.....just the fact that I've now posted my 300th post.  Now off to my … (12 comments)

blogging: Guest Blogging - 06/17/08 04:20 PM
OK....a short and simple blog here.  I have gotten more recognition than ever in the most recent months b/c of AR.  I have met some cool people.  I've been interviewed on radio shows, interviewed by news stations and now have been invited to guest blog from another well respected AR member.  I'm touched and excited.  'This is beyond anything that I have ever fathomed.  Having gushed over AR for the last few sentences I have a couple of Qs.
1)  Have your ever guest blogged?
2)  Do you re-write a post you've already done or do you go with something, say, … (7 comments)

blogging: AR creates PROFITABLE relationships too!!!! - 05/20/08 01:19 AM
In my first year on AR it's bee a blast. I have created many relationships. I have people with whom I grown quite fond of. My favorites being in no particular order:
Ryan is the fun guy that is living in the wrong area.  He needs to be hanging with me, having a brew out here in the midwest.  Packers still rule over the Seahawks any day!
There are a myriad of others, but this is still a sampling.  I communicate with some daily and other weekly.  Others I just correspond with as the time allows.  I've learned a lot, but love … (19 comments)

blogging: Variables of AR Blogging Success - 02/23/08 02:38 AM
OK....so here it is.  I've written over 200 blogs on AR.  Some I've just whipped up as a free association thought and I've gotten over 40 comments.  I've also put a lot of thought and research into a certain post and got a big zero as far as comments.
I was an English major and YES I DO LOVE TO WRITE, but unlike a lot of people on AR who say that it's not about other things, it kinda is.  I love writing, I love competition (so I really do like points - but my happiness isn't tied to them), and … (9 comments)

blogging: What's with all of the SALES PITCH POSTS? - 08/30/07 04:43 PM
What's the deal here?  I was on yesterday and clicked on "Blogs".  I counted 18 of the 20 blogs that were on the page were about a property that a realtor had to sell....What's up wtih that.  I'm all about mixing business with pleasure, but please.... do we all have Labor Day on the mind and can't think of something to blog about?  Maybe we're all so worred about the economy that we all need a desperate sale?
Has anyone else noticed a trend?  Yuck....let me know.  Yes promote ourselves and our business, but shouldnt there be some balance??

blogging: Going Green with Blogs???? Is Recycling a good thing???? - 07/16/07 06:44 AM
So I was wondering what to put up today after all my work over the past days, weeks and months.  Every topic seemed to have been covered that ever existed like in the history of the word....Then I start thinking of "new topics and realize that I've already BLOGGED about these topics.  Needless to say....I have a important Qs

1)  Is recycling OK for us?  So in other words, I covered a topic, but it may have been 3 or 4 months and I want to make sure that I keep hitting my target audience with that topic.....or
2)  Is recycling cheap … (6 comments)
