football: I've Waited All Year for Today - Are You Ready for Some Football? - 09/08/13 02:49 AM
A new football season is upon us!  Starting right now!  Is anyone else as excited as I am or do you just not care?  For me, after the Super Bowl...it's empty with no sports until the football season begins.  My Green Bay Packers are poised for change, and hopefully for the better.  Your team may be up for the same.
I did get 2 contracts last night, but I'm more excited about today's football than I am about the contracts.  I'm really, really really excited about the contracts, but all that much more for the football!!!!!

football: Speechless Sunday - Mecca - Green Bay Packers Practice - 08/09/09 03:17 AM
Not often you get to see YOUR BOYS on the field while bringing your boys with you.  My dad and mom, my sister and her husband and my kids all went to this pre-season game and had a blast.  My kids had a great time.  It was the hottest, as my kid says, "sweatiest" day of the summer, but lots of fun nonetheless.

football: Coach "Dad" - 09/12/08 03:43 PM
Can't wait to coach my first football game tomorrow!  I have a 7 year old and a 9 year old both in two different sessions of the same league.  We have a more popular "Tri-City Football" that's been around from when I was a kid.  The reality is that I loved football, but hated Tri-city football.  They had practice every day of the week or 4 out of 5 days a week.  Too much for kids that age.  Saint Charles, Geneva and Batavia all participate in Tri-City programs, but I dont' want them to experience what I've experienced.  I have a … (13 comments)

football: Can a Packer Fan be ashamed of their home team? - 08/07/08 03:31 PM

Gotta say...this blog will be short and sweet.  I love my homey Brett.  Sure his waffling stinks, but he's old....older...and his body heals slower.  He's done more for the Pack over the last 16 years than anyone's done between all the years between Lombardi and Favre.... I think it really came down to poor communication.  Gotta say...I'm a hard core Packer fan...actually an owner.  I would have to say that I'd have a hard time rooting for the Packers if they played the Jets (this won't happen unless both go to the Super Bowl this year).  Needless to say....poor Aaron … (12 comments)

football: Favre heading BACK AT PACK for the moment..... - 07/25/08 03:31 PM
Brett, Brett, Brett...where are you?????  I love what Timberlake said at the ESPYs.  "Brett, what you've been up to dude?"  We haven't heard from you.  This is not only the story of the moment, this could be the football story of the year.  It's well thought that Brett will be applying for reinstatement from the NFL.

Gotta tell you...I love them both....Arron Rogers is the future of the pack, but Favre gives them the best chance to get to the Super Bowl NOW!!!!
Roger Goodall will get him reinstated.  He's pressuring the Packers to find a place for Favre either … (11 comments)

football: Green Bay Packers....I'm eating humble pie. - 01/20/08 02:19 PM
I hate to say it, but I really am somewhat of a bitter loser when it comes to losing with things that I'm passionate about.  I was so sure....that the Packers were going to win that I was already looking at Super Bowl 42 tickets way before gametime.  Needless to say....I may even be one of those bitter guys that says if there was a rematch we'd kill the NYGs.  However, if I'm really honest, I'd say that I really like NYG (even if we are better and just lost one game to them).  I want the Gs to tear apart … (21 comments)

football: Countdown to the Ice Bowl II - 01/20/08 07:49 AM
Giants in the frozen tundra of Green Bay at Lambeau Field tonight.  Gametime conditions according to the NFL today on CBS says that it's 1 degree with a kickoff windchill at 25 below zero.  As stated earlier, my mom and dad are going to the game.  Just spoke to them and they are psyched.  At 69 and 70 years old they said that its so much warmer than the 40 below windchill bear game that they hit last year.  They said it'll be balmy.
Let's hope that the game is exciting and that Dad has his spicey bloody mary's and mom … (8 comments)

football: Ice Bowl 2 on Sunday....Packers are Ready - 01/18/08 01:01 AM
Had a lot of banter last week as the Packers whalloped the Seahawks despite the terrible start in Green Bay.  The buzz this week is the dirty play of the Giants, the inconsistency of Eli....before the playoffs and the consistency of him during the playoffs, and of course, the legend of Brett and the weather....ooooh the weather.

No surprise here that Favre has had his day and his days are numbered, but this year seems magical in an Elway-esque sort of way.  I'm excited to see what this game brings.  In my heart of hearts, I think that this will be … (22 comments)

football: Ya - Fricking Hooo!!!! NFC Championship Game in Green Bay!!! - 01/13/08 12:41 PM
Can't put it into words.  Totally cool.  I posted about this Friday.  My boy, Brett Favre once again did his magic.  This was so vintage Favre...tripping, falling forward and making the impossible, well possible!!!!  And nothing short of incredible.  Anyway, my mom and dad have booked their tickets and my wife and I are in the process of securing ours...not only for the Championship game that is in Green Bay, but also the Super Bowl Tickets whic will be in Arizona.   What's so great is that Dallas had it all wrapped up.  Plus they beat the Packers and were already being … (14 comments)

football: Green Bay Packers this weekend or all the way - 01/09/08 02:15 PM
Carson Palmer was interviewed this past week on who can take New England.  Many think that Jacksonville can, but what surprised me was that Carson Palmer said that the Packers, due to their tight man coverage, had the ability to upset them.  I am poised to get some tickets for the the Packer's game against Seattle this weekend. It's a 5 hour trip, but I'd rather wait until the Super Bowl.
Now that everyone has stopped laughing, I can laugh too.  It just feels so fricking great to hear that.  We'll see how far they can go.  I really don't think … (42 comments)

football: Packer's look to Rebound - 12/12/07 06:18 AM
After the brutal loss to Dallas 2 weeks ago, many thought that Green Bay was out.  Now their the number two team in the NFC and have about six of their injured players returning prior to the playoff run.  It'll be interesting to see what happens.  I'm curious as to whether or not they'll be able to take Dallas if GB is healthy.  I'm also curious to see if GB, Dallas or Indy has enough in their tank to be able to take New England sometime down the road.  Your thoughts?  It'll be an interesting conclusion to our season for sure.  How … (6 comments)

football: Let it snow, let it snow, let is snow - 12/04/07 02:13 PM
I've had more fun with my kids this year.  My oldest turned 8 and the next 6, 5, 2 and 1.  The older two finally get the hang of football and we have played more football this year.  It's been a blast.  I love the snow....but with so much fun with my children playing football, I wished that it would be postponed for a couple of weeks....maybe just in time for Christmas.  However, tonight we are to get 4-6 inches of that white stuff.  I know that I could teach them football in the snow, but I think that I'd be … (6 comments)

football: Notre Dame Finally on the Brink???? - 09/29/07 04:06 PM
We'll see.  today they lost again to Purdue Boilermakers.  Purdue improved to 5-0 and Notre Dame dropped to 0-5.  People are calling for the head of Charlie Weiss.  But I got to tell you this is a rebuilding year.  9 of 11 starters of Notre Dame's Offense graduated last year.  Of course, Charlie was stupid for saying that this not a rebuild year.  The second half of today's game featured Evan Sharpley who looked...well...er...quite sharp.  I think that we'll know more in the next couple of weeks, but I think that we could be quite close to victory at ND.

football: Packers 3 - 0 - 09/24/07 07:15 AM
Great news for packer fans this year.  What seemed improbable is now looking like a great miracle for Brett this year....Favre throws another 3 touchdowns as the Packers go 3-0 and beat a strong San Diego Charger team.  Most believe, through Favres statements, that if this year is a great year and they don't win the super bowl, he'll be back again in 2008.  I believe the same.  It'll be interesting nonetheless.  The Bears need a lot of help as of now....and with all their injuries, don't look the same as a last year.  Nevertheless, the packers have 13 injured players … (2 comments)
