OK....it's officially under way!!  2012 is not just a number for realtors and lenders, but it's a huge opportunity for consumers.  But there are so many consumers who are unprepared or who just don't know where to start.
BUYERS...here's what you need to know: Before you do anything, meet with a licensed loan officer.  Yes, that person needs to be licensed.  Check out an earlier post Let's work with someone who doesn't have a license......NOT!!!!!!.  Before you even meet with the individual, ask if they're licensed.  Believe it or not the Fed has said that some folks can lend you hundreds … (14 comments)

real estate: Real Estate, Benevolence and Passion....do they belong together in Real Estate? - 08/13/09 04:51 PM
When I was a kid, I spent a week or two at Camp Saint Malo every summer.  It was and is, just south of Estes Park, Colorado and attached to Rocky Mountain National Park.  Then I went to college and for four summers became a camp counselor there.  It's a time where I really found Christ and was still able to be an idiot all at once.  Mostly, I found a peace leading others by being a camp counselor.  I'd hike, swim, fish, play sports, shoot guns, do archery and just really kick it in life.   John Denver, who meant nothing … (3 comments)

Calling all loan officers...... and anyone else daring.... The Mortgage Week in Review

We Start the Week with something ah honorable mention.  Tina Farinas went beyond wishing all a happy Easter, in describing the meaning of Easter in her post, The True Meaning of Easter.  … (23 comments)

real estate: Hate to get personal, but we really need to! - 09/14/07 09:29 PM

I don't normally share these things with people, but the president and CEO of Cherry Creek Mortgage sent this to me personally.  It is shared with by Bill Hart at Building CHampions.  Building Champions is a pre-eminent national coaching company.  It's probably the gold standard in coaching.  I'm a coach and darn good at it too, but these guys really have it going on.  So if I'm going to share this info with you, I want to plug them too.  Go to www.buildingchampions.com to find out how to hire a preeminent coach for you and your coaching needs.

real estate: Foreclosures not as prevalent as we're led to believe - 06/21/07 02:49 PM
On Tuesday RealtyTrac released some pretty scary numbers relating to foreclosures. According to its data, RealtyTrac said, more than 176,000 people got foreclosure notices in May, an increase of 90 percent since the same month one year ago and the highest figure ever recorded in their monthly report.
The bad news made all of the network newscasts but we have always been a little leery of this particular source because RealtyTrac basically sells information on individual foreclosures to those interested in investing in the product. Information to non-subscribers on their website is limited. Nothing wrong with that; we would just like to … (5 comments)

real estate: Chaos in Campton??? Campton Township Becomes Campton Hills - 04/23/07 10:21 PM
Interesting develpments in the Fox Valley.  20+ Square miles just got turned from Campton Township to the incorporated village of Campton Hills.  There was a very low vote.  4000 of 8000 people voted, but I'm told that there were many more that could have been registered voters, but chose not to register.  Therefore the new village was created by a low voter registration of potential voters.  What does this mean?  Mix results that's for sure.  Many people see flaws in the arguments for the pro-campton incorporation views.  For their view look at www.incorporatecampton.org/.  The flaws see obvious.  They have too little expenses … (2 comments)

real estate: The Lending Game - 04/19/07 10:52 PM
Hey All,
This is my first blog, so I'm not sure if I'm doing it right or not.  I want to say that I've been in the business for 13 years. Yes...I want to make money...lots of it, but I know that it comes from serving others.  You, as the consumer, want someone whom you can trust in order to help you achieve your goal of home ownership, equity management and wealth creation through home ownership.
The problem with our business is that there are so many lenders who promise the moon and deliver nothing.  What happens is that they totally taint … (5 comments)
