saint charles: Grand Opening of Buick GMC in Saint Charles!!!!! - 10/24/11 04:26 PM
Pretty excited to see a new great dealership in Saint Charles.  I'm glad to see that the right people are doing the right thing to help out the economy by creating jobs and adding value and service to Saint Charles and the entire Fox Valley.
I will attest that the General Sales Manager has an impeccable reputation and has spent her entire career in service and in learing now to add value to people.  This is one of the best additions to Saint Charles and the entire Fox Valley.
Come to the Open House November 4th from 4 until 8 PM!!!!  … (1 comments)

saint charles: Why The Munger Road Movie Release this Friday is Important to Saint Charles - 09/27/11 04:08 PM
So....it's finally here. Munger Road. The movie. It's being released this Friday. September 30th, 2011. Munger Road has a bit of an Urban Legend. Growing up it was an urban legend that if you parked your car by the railroad tracks off Munger Road, and put baby powder on your back bumper.....you'll see hands showing up on your bumper to push your car away from the tracks. The writer is from Saint Charles. Saint Charles has already won Best Place to raise a family this past year from Family Circle magazine. How awesome is that???? Well this just makes another notch … (4 comments)

saint charles: Saint Charles has Night Out Against Crime Night Today....held in Campton Hills - 08/03/11 04:27 AM
Tonight my wife and 5 kids went to National Night Out Against Crime in Wasco, Illinois.  Saint Charles has been doing this for a number of years.  Now that a few citizens have created Campton Hells....what was Saint Charles is now Campton Hills.  For me that's the real crime.....
However, the night itself was good.  Kane County and Saint Charles, both contributed emergency personnel and did a lot of good things for child protection, fire protection and had the K-9 units there as well.  Kane County and Saint Charles had a lot of services to offer.  It was way too hot … (1 comments)

saint charles: Saint Charles Gets Chosen as Best Place to Raise a Family - 07/08/11 03:08 AM
Family Circle Magazine puts out their list of best places to raise a family.  Saint Charles, Illinois gets the #1 this year.  In the magazine, they rate the student teacher ratios, the median income, and the median house price as well as things to do.  Saint Charles has made it's mark before with a lot of historical facts, but this is a big boon.  Check out:
http://www.familycircle.com/family-fun/travel/best-towns-for-families/  Of course, I used to have a Saint Charles address, but now some idiots voted to parcel off some of Saint Charles and create a new village called Campton Hills (to most of us … (4 comments)

saint charles: Saint Charles - Concerts in the Park - 06/01/10 10:06 AM
Every year my family and I go to the Free Concerts in the Park Series that have been put on by Saint Charles Park District.  Since school is out as of tomorrow, we'll be making our first trek down there Thursday night.  Every Thursday, except for Pride of the Fox Riverfest, they have some kick butt bands.  My daughters love dancing with me even if it's 100 degrees outside.  Mostly though, I love just having a drink and watching the great lineup all summer.  For more information and for the schedule, click on

saint charles: Saint Charles Increases Bar Drinking Hours - 04/21/10 11:51 PM
Breaking news is that Saint Charles has voted to approve a new ordinance to allow bar drinking til 2:00 am on all nights.  It used to be that you could only go to a bar to order drinks until 2:00 am on Friday and Saturday night only.  Now that serving time has been expanded to the rest of the week.
Most believe that it's a matter of economic revenue for Saint Charles.  However a lot of local residents aren't too pleased.  I think that a lot of residents think that enough's enough.  Local bars find that it's good way for more … (3 comments)

saint charles: I Felt the Earth, Move, Under my feet. I survived an Earthquake in Illinois - 02/10/10 01:10 AM
OK....this for sure ain't Haiti.  I survived one when I was a kid living in California.  It was 6.0 on the Richter Scale.  This mroning I was awoken at 4;00 am in the morning to a loud, loud, loud rumbling.  I mean it was really loud.  Our house shook for about 4 or 5 seconds.  I jumped out of bed and got by a wall.  I felt like it was the end of times for a quite a while.  My wife and I didn't know if it was a tornado, sonic boom of a low flying jet or whatever.  We both … (14 comments)

saint charles: Tomorrow's Halloween....Check again the Sexual Predator List in Your Area!!! - 10/30/09 06:59 AM
Halloween is just around the corner!  Every year I like to give a lot of shout outs to protecting your children. My kids actually like Halloween, but I think that they like the party and the chili afterwards more than the actual trick or treating.  I'm the same way.
However, I'm a NAZI about child protection.  There's a lot of wierdo's out there....and in this world more than ever. Halloween isn't probably as big of a deal for the wierdos, but the time is right and there've been too many horror stories in years gone past.
Keeping the children protected means staying away from … (15 comments)

saint charles: Scarecrow Festival Comes To Saint Charles - 10/06/09 02:34 PM
Well....it's finally here.  The Annual Scarecrow Festival comes to Saint Charles, Illinois this weekend.  Check out www.scarecrowfest.com.  My family and I have gone so many years.  This year we're going to the Pumpkin Festival in Door County Wisconsin.  Needless to say, the Scarecrow Festival in Saint Charles is THE PLACE TO BE IN THE WESTERN SUBURBS!!!! IN THE FALL!!!
There are things for the kids to do.  Go through the scarecrow festival and judge all of the entrants for scarecrow contest.  The old company that I worked for....well....we won the contest twice.  It's so much more advanced now.  The kids go … (5 comments)

saint charles: Best of the Best - - - Saint Patrick's Catholic Grade School - 08/31/09 01:29 AM
Saint Patrick's Catholic Grade School is the highest rated grade school in the diocese of Rockford.  Of course, I used to be the president of Saint Patrick's School Board, and therefore, I'm biased.  However, I was a graduate of saint patrick's myself and probably had no business to go on and be a great success, but for whatever reasons I did.  A few of the teachers that put up with me are now teaching my children.
Besides this, the school truly is ranked ahead of all of the public schools anywhere in the Kane County Area.  As an investment it is an … (2 comments)

saint charles: Concerts in The Park in Saint Charles Illinois - 06/02/09 12:51 AM
Concerts in the park is back in Saint Charles.  It's one of my favorite things here in Saint Charles.  I take my family there every week and just have the biggest blast that there is.  It's so much fun.  We get some food, some drink and just enjoy a free night of R&R.  My youngest 3 love dancing with their daddy.  The older two throw the football around and just love live.  Here's the schedule for This Summer!!!!!

saint charles: Great Disc Golf in Saint Charles Illinois - 05/19/09 04:22 AM
One of my favorite sports is disc golf.  In Saint Charles, we have our very own Disc Golf Course.  I used to play professionally.  I was blessed in having the ability to develop this course with the directors of the Illinois Disc Golf Association.  This course, which is located off of Campton Hills road just west of Randall
Road.  I really can't brag enough about this  course.  The course which is only a 9 hole course has more terrain than any course that I've played in Illinois.  It's a quick course, but with all of the terrain changes.  It's just so … (3 comments)

saint charles: Victory for A New Batch Wanting to Leave Campton - 03/10/09 01:54 AM
I've been out of the political realm since the election this past fall.  I've been all about unity and not fighting the administration that ruins runs our lives in Campton anymore.  In truth, I have so much in common with many pro-campton people, but we disagree wholeheartedly on a need for more taxation and big government.
Yesterday, Judge Colwell gave reprieve to a group of homeowners who wanted to leave the Village of Campton.  I guess I find some relief in knowing that homeowners who bought property in unincorporated Kane County, get to go back to what they had purchased.  They got … (2 comments)

saint charles: Missing Child in Geneva - 02/15/09 08:01 AM
I never do this, but since it never happens our here in the Fox Valley.  Something like this is every parent's nightmare.  I don't know the circumstances, runaway, kidnapping, just a mistake of human error.. As of this point I'm not sure, but.....please take note

Samantha Starr who has been missing since Wednesday. She was last seen at Geneva High School on Wednesday, February 11.  She is 15 years old and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a turquoise shirt, brown boots, and dark navy blue hooded jacket.  Samantha has brown shoulder length hair, blue eyes and is 5'8 … (14 comments)

saint charles: I have a great referral for you. Tax Time means Game Time for you and your CPA! - 02/03/09 12:44 PM
It's rare that I get the opportunity to refer or endorse someone who I can put my name behind.  I'm doing this today, but what makes this unique is that this person never asked me to promote him.
Kevin Fitzpatrick, I'd like to call, is a world class Certified Public Accountant or CPA.  I have known Kevin for over 20 years.  Kevin is one of those people whom I would classify as the best of the best.  It's rare that I post about others, but since I've known Kevin for so many years I feel that it's important that the local … (2 comments)

saint charles: The Pros and Cons of the 4.5% 30 Year Interest Rate! - 12/10/08 03:20 AM
Let me first say that I'm not a negative person.  Rather, I'm probably the most positive person that I know....Therefore what I'm about to say does not reflect an angry bitter person, but someone who has sat back and analyzed this 4.5% 30 year fixed rate that everyone's talking about.  Let me say that I'll conclude with some positive advice for all the young bucks in real estate that want to make this a positive.  Let's start with some of the facts.
1)  Last week there's an announcement that there may be a 4.5% 30 year fixed rate.  Here's the deal.  … (8 comments)

saint charles: Davy Jones, frontman of the Monkees. Tickets on sale now at the Arcada. - 10/29/08 02:36 PM
The Arcada Theatre located on Main Street in Saint Charles, has just announced a show by Davy Jones, the frontman of the Monkees.  Probably remember him taking Marcia Brady to prom when you were a kid.
The Arcada Theatre, The Arcada Theater, St. Charles IL - Onesti Ent., which was established right in the heart of downtown Saint Charles in 1926 is still one of the main attractions in Saint Charles.
The show is November 15th at 8:00 pm.  Davy Jones is still active in Rock N Roll and was just featured on the "O'Reilly Factor" for the snubbing of their … (5 comments)

The First Time Buyer....WHY BUY NOW????
They are buying homes today that don't have inflated equity..
They don't have to wait for their home to sell...
They have sellers willing to pay their closing costs and buy-down already good interest rates
They are in the first "Buyers" Market in nearly 8 years.
They have the largest selection of homes in 15 years.
The current down turn in pricing will allow them to buy homes in neighborhoods that were out of their reach 2 years ago...
They can get that extra bedroom or bath or garage...
They can still buy a home with 3% … (20 comments)

saint charles: Microburst Rips through Home and Saint Charles....PRICELESS!!!!! - 08/06/08 05:00 AM
Wow....wanted to write a great post on the ressurection of Brett Favre last night.  However, we had a storm that came through our town.  I grew up in Saint Charles and never heard or have seen what I saw last night.
It started with my brother and sister and our spouses and my father taking my mom out to celebrate for her 70th birthday.  We got to dinner and the storm rolled in.  The place that we ate at made us leave the restaurant and move to a place with no windows as the epicenter of the storm rolled over.  After … (13 comments)

saint charles: Is the Fox Valley as bad as every other market? - 07/27/08 03:13 PM
Now is the time to buy is all you hear nowadays.  Sure, if you're a homebuyer it's a great time to buy a home, but many homebuyers have home sale contingencies that put them in the wrong market.  THE MARKET IS...."HAVE INVENTORY.....LOOKING FOR BUYERS."
What makes the Fox Valley area so incredible is that it's a very white collar community coupled with an incredibly strong blue collar work force and work ethic.  Needless to say a study was done for a nationally known international pub/restaurant chain.  They determined that the median, YES MEDIAN income was over $110,000 per year per famlly.  … (0 comments)
