So I'm sitting here in a continuing legal education seminar learning all about "How to Build a Great Practice." The speaker has been talking about what makes a great law practice. After listening to some judges, some sole practitioners and a world class attorney speaker, I come to my conclusion that real estate is really like being a sole practitioner of a law practice. Needless to say, there are many elements that come to building a great practice.

I'm really seeing something wierd going on here:
Mortgage Compaines blowing up. Mortgage companies thriving. Clients are making the shift. Big box lenders are so big that they're collapsing on top of their own clients.
I'm dealing with a top three lender rignt now...
As an Attorney!
I've been contacted by the client. The lender had been accepting the mortgage payments, cashing them in and, oh yes.....reporting to the credit bureaus that they hadn't made a payment for nine months and therefore the big box lender began the foreclosure process.

Today I had a manager fighting a battle between an underwriter and one of his loan officers. This guy rocks, but in moving between companies, the manager feels a bit like a fish out of water. Needless to say, being a fish out of water can be a good thing when challenging yourself to do bigger and better things.
In business, however, the economy is all over the map. What's someone to do when they can't even plan for the day? The economy sucks.....Obama is fixing it. Housing starts are up....the first time homebuyer tax credit goes away in just a … (10 comments)
