Mortgage Girlfriends Retreat 2010 - 09/30/10 02:04 AM
Mortgage Girlfriends Retreat 2010What an incredible idea! Just a bunch of girlfriends getting together to talk about mortgages! Yep, that would be why it's called a Mortgage Girlfriends Retreat! There might be a few of you thinking talkin' loans for a solid two days sounds a bit boring. But when you combine the topics with the energy levels of these women, it's anything but boring.  Mortgage Girlfriends Retreat was an idea birthed by Karen Deis (one of Karen's many terrific ideas, I might add!) The 2010 Mortgage Girlfriends Retreat is the fifth one Karen has assembled. The gathering is a small … (4 comments)

Mortgage Rate Indicators for Denver - 09/28/10 08:47 AM
Mortgage Rate Indicators for Denver                                                                     - Week of September 27th, 2010 Mortgage bond prices ended near unchanged last week keeping mortgage interest rates historically low. The Fed meeting Tuesday went as expected. The Fed kept interest rates unchanged and noted they will keep rates low for an extended period of time. Mortgage rate indicators were positive through the middle portion of the week. Unfortunately stronger than expected data and surging stock prices the latter portion of the week eroded the earlier positive movements. Despite those negative … (4 comments)

Wonder what the viewing statistics really are? - 09/28/10 12:37 AM
You've most likely heard that videos are starting to pull a lot of google juice, but I have to ask you... be honest with me on this... do you really have the time... or take the time .... to watch all these videos? Typically, I won't. Takes too long. I can read the info or scan the photos at a pace that is much more comfortable for me. So, I will often skip right past the video.
Yes, I feel guilty.
But who in the world really has/takes the time? Or maybe it is just me?? Maybe I'm just too … (18 comments)

You might have the ability to swipe and not even know it! - 09/15/10 12:04 AM
Or is it "swype"? Seems to depend on the kind of smart phone you have. Either way, it is all the rage right now, and for good reason.
The typing keyboard which first gained any popularity was the QWERTY keyboard, designed over 130 years ago for the efficiency of the typewriting machine to minimize jamming. The name was derived from the first six letters on the top row, which still have the same order on today's keyboards.
In 1936 the Dvorak keyboard was released designed with letter frequency in mind and was said to increase typing speed from 12 to 20%. Vowels were all grouped together … (13 comments)

Mortgage Rate Indicators for Denver - 09/13/10 11:14 AM
Mortgage Rate Indicators for Denver
If you are thinking about buying a home, but holding off to see if the government is going to offer any new tax credits to entice you to buy, you might want to think again!
Interest rates are so much lower than they were when the tax credits were being offered. And the mortgage rate indicators are suggesting now is the time to act to take advantage of these low rates... while they last!
Low sales prices + Low interest rates = great time to buy!
But that formula won't last forever. It is very important to keep … (9 comments)

How To Use ScribeFire to Enhance Your ActiveRain Blog Posts - 09/11/10 09:26 AM
I've heard so much about ScribeFire recently that I decided I MUST give it a try. (The only negative that I've heard is that you still have to add pictures directly from the AR word editor??)
Anyway, right after downloading, I got stuck (how to launch the account wizard) so I did a search for help with AR, and wa-la! There he is again... Brad with all the answers.
THANK YOU, BRAD! I'm reblogging this so I can not only refer back to it easily, but add it as a training link on my site.

Lakewood Homes For Rent - 09/11/10 01:45 AM
Lakewood Homes For Rent
Looking for homes for rent in Lakewood? I certainly understand wanting to live in Lakewood. A wonderful "little" city (fourth largest in Colorado according to Wikipedia) nestled near the foothills of the Rockies, about ten minutes from Denver.
But what I don't understand is why are you looking for homes for rent here when it is so easy right now to buy a home in Lakewood?
Let's look at a few comparisons between looking at homes for rent vs homes for sale.
Typical move in cost for homes for rent usually require upfront deposit and first and … (0 comments)

Elk are bugling in Keene Ranch subdivision Castle Rock Colorado - 09/10/10 12:59 PM
The elk are bugling already in Keene Ranch subdivision Castle Rock Colorado
When the elk start bugling, it's usually considered a "fall thing". We heard our first bugling here in Keene Ranch over a week ago, if you can believe that! My first thought: oh, no! It's too early for that already. Reminds me of a game we used to play when we were little: "ready or not, here I come"!
I'm going to miss driving home and seeing the deer nibbling on the horse mint (my favorite wild flower in Keene Ranch!) See the picture here with a nice buck … (17 comments)

Lost his home in the fire and NO INSURANCE??? - 09/10/10 12:48 AM
I was listening on the news today on my when into work as the radio station interviewed a gentleman who said just that: my home burned down and I didn't have a drop of insurance.
My first thought was: then there wasn't a loan on it or he would have HAD to have insurance.
His interview went on to say that his home was over 120 years old and he couldn't get insurance. Really? I've never heard of that, to be honest??
He had lived there for 25 years. He had 53 acres of land and said only about six trees … (12 comments)

Bad Gateway errors??? - 09/10/10 12:35 AM
I have been trying for two days to finish up a couple of blogs, but can't seem to upload any photos??? I keep getting that dreaded "Bad Gateway" error.
I thought about posting without the photos, but they are so good, I couldn't wait to show them off! Besides a post without a photo is like cereal without sugar! So, I guess I'll try again tomorrow.
It's like a bad dream has returned! Anyone else having issues, or is this an issue on my end?
