seller: A good insight on current mortgage rate trends. We may never see these rates again for a long time! - 01/14/11 07:00 PM
Mortgage rates are inching up and the higher the rate is, the lower loan amount you can qualify for.  When rates were at 4.125%, a borrower could qualify to buy a home for $600,000.  The same borrower today would be able to buy a home today for $550,000. If only it can that simple to most people.  JOBS, JOBS, JOBS.  The unemployment rate has to go down further in order for buyers to have the comfort level to buy homes, refinance and invest.  Until that happens, we are in for a long period of time with little progress.
