Sold! Gorgeous home in Hebron CT! - 12/30/11 12:09 PM
This home sold after 3 short weeks on the market in Hebron CT! If not for the crazy snow storm we had the first 9 days, we may have sold it even sooner!! The house was perfectly prepared for the market and home was in move in condition. Clearly the buyers saw VALUE in the home since we listed it at $489,900 and it sold for $490,000. The transaction was a flawless one with professional and experienced Realtors on both sides of the transaction. If you are looking to buy or sell in Hebron CT, make the right choice

Condo Sold in Surrey Hill Complex! 244 Conestoga Way, Glastonbury - 12/30/11 11:50 AM
This beautiful condo in Surrey Hill Condo Complex in Glastonbury sold in less than 2 weeks on the market at $206,000. The condo was priced right at $214,900 and had all the bells and whistles. The Surrey Hill Condo owner took my staging advice and even completed a remodel of a family bathroom to meet the remodeled other 2 bathrooms. Proving that a well prepared condo with the right offering price will sell in Surrey Hill Condos . When you are at the finish line, you must go that last little stretch...buyers know values and they want condos in move in condition

While it may be early, I would love to take a minute to wish everyone the best for 2012 - 12/26/11 12:37 PM
I am so excited to see what this new year will be like for our business. Every year has been so different. Some of my best years to date in terms of sales have been the last few. I have had my lisence for over 14 years so I have seen good markets and not so good markets. For me, having good sales numbers over the last few years must mean I am doing something right…. While it may be early, I would love to take a minute to wish everyone the best for 2012!

MUST KNOW - what are the best.... - 12/26/11 12:01 PM
I finally got an iphone – this one is the 4s and I am so excited. I have used a blackberry for years and knew it was time to switch. I was always so envious of all the cool apps the iphone users had – but I am happy with Verizon and never wanted to switch to another provider….but now I had my chance with iphone becoming available to Verizon users. I just have one thing to ask….. What are your favorite apps? Which are the must have apps for Realtors?

Glastonbury had 2 other names??? - 12/25/11 06:05 PM
Did you know that in 1693 Glastonbury CT was originally called Glassenbury when it broke from Wethersfield CT and became a town all its own? In 1785 the town residents renamed Glassenbury to Glastenbury. Then in 1870 the town residents changed the name of the town one last time to Glastonbury. There are only 2 towns in world named Glastonbury, one in England and of course our very own town in Connecticut!

I wish I had a crystal ball - but, I dont. - 12/21/11 09:01 AM
Dont you just love when buyers or sellers ask if they should buy or sell NOW or Wait til the Spring market? Or any other time in the future market? Hmmmm, where is that darn crystal ball when you need it - I always say mine is in the "shop". I cant tell you what "THAT" market will be like. What I can tell you is that RIGHT NOW, there are great deals to be had if you are a buyer and if you, Seller, price your house reasonably, you will find a BUYER - NOW. Interests are so low, housing

Fannie Mae is holding a house hostage, they won't let my cash buyer buy it. - 12/21/11 08:23 AM
I had to re-bog this post by Tammy Lankford of Lane Realty. I couldn't believe what I was reading but know that it is ridiculous decisions such as she described that are very likely happening all over the US - decisions by banks or lawyers not to sell foreclosed or short sale properties for stupid reasons. Seems like there is a piece of this puzzle we dont know about. Puzzling!!!!!!!! Via Tammy Lankford/Broker Lane Realty Lake Sinclair-Central GA: Back in October I was sitting in the office when someone stopped in because they had found a property on the Internet. They were looking for

Full Day Kindergarten may be coming to Glastonbury - 12/18/11 08:27 PM
The Glastonbury Board of Education recently held a public hearing on the issue of starting full time kindergarten here in Glastonbury. While there is a lot of ground to cover in terms of studies and cost issues, the hearing drew a pretty good crowd for those in favor and opposed to the full day kindergarten proposal. A study group led by 2 elementary school principals presented its findings to the BOE. Those findings reflected many benefits of full time kindergarten. Cost proposals are expected in January as the BOE works through the 2012 -2013 budgets. The option of either full

An elegant and delicious shrimp scampy dish - 12/18/11 07:54 PM
Have you been invited to your family's house for the holidays and asked to bring a "dish". This dish will be a show stopper. The originally recipe is an Ina Garten recipe that I modified over the years til I got to this point. I like a lot of garlic and use quite a bit. I brought it once to a holiday party and the hostess told me they used the left overs over pasta the next day for dinner and enjoyed the meal very much! I received the CT Magazine's Five Star Award again this year! Thank you! - 12/12/11 03:52 PM
How Was I Selected? Consumers in Connecticut were asked if they had experience working with a real estate agent. Consumers who agreed, participated in the survey by providing the name of the real estate agent and rated that individual according to key criteria such as integrity, negotiation and closing preparation. I have been told by reps, that surveys were sent to Connecticut area residents who recently purchased a home over $150,000 (more than 30,500 households) within a 12-month period (April 2010 to April 2011) and 1,000 subscribers of Connecticut Magazine and additionally there were 250 surveys sent to mortgage companies and title companies in my

Connecticut National Guard's annual Operation E.L.F. program - did you know? - 12/07/11 04:52 PM
Please consider donating to the Connecticut National Guard's Operation E.L.F.(Embracing Lonely Families) to help Connecticut's military members and the families during the holidays. Our service members and their families deserve our gratitude every day, but especially around the holidays when they may be a half-world away from their family and loved ones. Many of the toys that are collected will be distributed to deployed families during a special holiday dinner on December 17th. Other toys will be held by families to be placed under trees on Christmas morning. Many military families face financial pressures because activated soldiers have seen the elimination or reduction

Also, I noted CL&P stated they would figure out if you qualify for the credit and would let you know however, I just didn't feel like I wanted to leave that to them. I figured they have alot on their plate right now with all the storm aftermath. So I called 888-566-9257 from my cell phone. My cell is registered on my account and the automated phone system recognized the
