Is Your Optimism is Overflowing? Join us and submit your positive ideas to inspire all of us for the— Spring Fresh Contest at The Positive Attitude for the Weary SoulOK, we all know our economy is not at it's best. We’ve seen the gazillion depressing news stories and trillions of disturbing statistics. We are all affected by these challenges.   I think we should be confident in our abilities and brains. We shouldn't whine. We need to find solutions. I'm filled with optimism and operate in “I will be creative, control what I can and move forward” mode, not, … (13 comments)

activerain: How Do You Measure Success? This is how I do it in the RAIN - 03/12/09 07:32 PM
I've finally decided to tell you MORE about one of the most important professional and personal success stories in my life... I am proud to share it with you. I also hope it may inspire someone else... someone that is facing just one or a multitude of issues which makes them wonder IF they will survive or ever see their glass half to full again. Some of you know about Bruce Bourgault, my late husband—his battle with cancer, his success as a mortgage banker and the extraordinary life he lived. He was the man of my dreams, my best friend and … (30 comments)

In September through October 2007, while my husband, Bruce, was in Queen's Medical Center for cancer treatment, occasionally I needed a place of solace and peace. Queen's had a lovely chapel where I could go during his surgical procedures and treatments where I was not allowed to be present. These were difficult times as we didn't want to be separated, but sometimes they wouldn't bend the rules. So, I found myself alone more often than desired. And even though the medical staff was very kind to us, … (7 comments)

activerain: What does CHEESE have to do with Real Estate? - 02/04/09 11:48 AM
Cheese! Cheese!—Glorious Cheese!A few months ago I was lurking around the house... searching for something to eat and all I could think about was cheese. After two trips to the refrigerator I had an inventory of the cheeses available. There were a couple of cheddars,  a small piece of provolone, parmigiano reggiano,  manchengo and mozzarella. A plethora of cheeses, but none of them were appealing. I was craving something very special—Chevre, French for goat cheese.  So, off I went to the market in search of goat cheese. While I was at the market I started thinking about making homemade cheese. On … (46 comments)

One day over sixty years ago a baby girl was born to a wonderful, loving family. The baby girl's name was Paulette. Paulette died when she was only ten hours old. Her family grieved over the sudden and tragic loss of her sweet, innocent life. Time passed... I was born and abandoned. The loving … (18 comments)

With the election of our new president and on the eve of Veteran’s Day my thoughts turn to what can we do on Activerain to help our nation during these tumultuous times; to help our new president to be effective and efficient in addressing our multi-challenges; to help one another improve our business(s); to help one another bring peace and prosperity to our world; and help bring our military members home. We can do this one drop of “rain” at a time.

By joining together we can fill a bucket and it will overflow into another  bucket until all of our buckets are … (8 comments)
