A BASEBALL FAMILY - THAT'S FOR SURE! - 03/31/11 05:36 PM
Okay, so my great-grandfather actually played PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL on the Pittsburgh Pirates with the famous Honus Wagner. My grandmother used to tell me stories about the barbecues the family would have in the off-season where Honus wuld come over. Apparently she would sit on his knee and he would tell her lots of stories. Who knew!
Anyway, my mother is the proud owner of the scrap book which contains all sorts of newspaper clippings, team photos and memorabilia. My great-grandmother would collect these during the season in one of those old books with the black paper and the old white ink. … (3 comments)

FRIVOLOUS LAWSUITS: WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO ALL OF US! - 03/30/11 01:13 PM
Okay, so I used be ExecutiveDirector of a group called LOS ANGELES CITIZENS AGAINST LAWSUIT ABUSE or CALA. It was about calling attention to the need for tort reform and an ending to all these crazy lawsuits that are clogging up the court system and also killing good jobs. GOLF - IS IT SERIOUS BUSINESS (PART 2) - 03/28/11 02:20 PM
Okay, so in the LAST EPISODE, I wrote about my not-so-serious day at a nine-hole golf course. I'm not sure what posessed me except that I LOVE LAUGHING at my escapades! I also said I would write about my day at a more serious, more prestigeous golf course, THE CLASSIC CLUB.

Okay, so I've read quite a few posts on golf today. Some of them are serious and others not so much. So I've decided to tell you how absolutely CHALLENGED I am when it comes to golf. I've played a few times, and had a lot of fun.
One time, about my sixth time playing we went with my sister-in-law and her husband to the little nine-hole golf course near us. (For you golfers, there are three of these really close to La Verne.) EARTHQUAKES AND WEATHER! - 03/23/11 12:10 PM
Okay, so I just have to write this "speculative" piece. Our weather here in sunny Southern California has significantly gotten colder and wetter this year. I understand that some would say it's due to "Warming", but personally I think that's simply not true.
So, if I'm right, one has to wonder about the recent earthquakes and the fact that both the Haiti Earthquake and now the Japanese Earthquake have shifted the earth's axis. I mean, it seems to me that even a slight shift would dramatically change our position in regards to the sun and affect our weather. And … (7 comments)

24 HOUR CITY HALL FOR LA VERNE! - 03/07/11 07:36 PM
Okay, so the City of La Verne, CA is going hi-tech! They have announced a 24-hour City Hall where you can now report street lights that are out, the need for graffiti removal, or put in a request for service online!
Wow, I can definitely see why Family Circle named La Verne as one of the 10 BEST CITIES FOR FAMILIES in 2010!
