Okay, so I'm off to Las Vegas until Friday!  I love it when my husband has vacation time.  BUT, I will be back for all of the fun... America's birthday!  How exciting! (Not that I'm patriotic or anything...)

Okay, so I was watching a viedo on a friend's blog about something totally unrelated to Real Estate.  It made me stop and think, "How do I as a Realtor make myself shine and stand apart for my clients?" LA VERNE REAL ESTATE MARKET WATCH - JUNE 18-24, 2011 - 06/24/11 04:44 PM

Okay, so here goes nothin'!  (Just kidding)  Anyway, the La Verne Market Watch is a lot more volitale than the San Dimas. 
Ten new homes have come onto the market.  If you're looking to buy a home in La Verne, you should check out all the new listings each week, day or month depending on how fast you want to move.  Of those ten homes that went on the home market, only two are short sales and the rest are standard sales.  Things seem to be looking up!

SAN DIMAS REAL ESTATE MARKET WATCH - JUNE 18-24, 2011 - 06/24/11 04:15 PM

Okay, so here it is, the chart for San Dimas this week. Obviously we had nine homes come onto the market in the last seven days.  Of those nine, five are standard sales, two are bankowned and two are short sales.  It would seem that the days of standard sales are coming back again. Not so bad on the price changes this week.  Twelve price changes is starting to come down from last week's number.  Again, it still really matters that you use an agent who knows their STUFF when it comes to home pricing.   And only two went back … (0 comments)

Okay, so the other day on the news, I saw on the news a study on how portable pools can be just as dangerous as in-ground pools as far as pool safety is concerned.
So since we are starting to get that famous California summer weather, and in honor of the upcoming holiday, here are some links to pool safety tips.

Okay, so I was reading this funny post by Alan May.  He chose to show a license plate which referrenced Pink Floyd.  So cute and I love how he shared his thoughts and feelings about that plate.
So last year, we were walking through a casino parking lot in Vegas and I saw this license plate. ( We get free rooms, but that's a story for a different blog...)  I simply HAD to take a picture of it, because it is so hillarious!  Can't you just see some little five-year old kid sticking his tongue out and saying, "NEENER?"

I happen to LOVE Mimi's blog.  If you've never subscribed to her, you ought to think about it!
This post is particularly good about sales and motivations.  I think it applies to sales even outside of Real Estate, of course with a little tweaking on words.  But it's definitely something worth reading time and time again.  After all, we all need to be reminded from time to time.

HOME SALES IN CALIFORNIA, MAY 2011 - 06/20/11 06:52 PM
Okay, so I was reading a great article on DQ NEWS.  It was really encouraging because in comparison to April, 2011, home sales were up by 0.9%. This stat is for resale homes, condos and new homes. and 53% of those sold were "distressed" properties.  A sign that things are looking a little better?
To put it in a little better perspective, home sales in May 2010 were 13.3% higher than this year.  Still an increase from the previous month! 
Foreclosures, you ask?  35.5% were homes that had been foreclosed on during the previous twelve months. This figure is down from April … (0 comments)

Okay, so it's that time of the week again!  Market Watch is something I do for the cities of San Dimas and La Verne so you can get a feeling for what's happening in the area with regards to real estate.  It also gives me a good feel for home pricing and other factors that enable me to do my job better for YOU. Okay, so here's this week's MARKET WATCH for the City of La Verne. It's more of the same, new listings are holding their own, seven went into escrow and have been marked "Backup Offers Only", and six have made it into escrow firmly as pending. Six actually made it to the SOLD file.   But once again, WOW, 14 price changes... with the quantity of homes being so low in La Verne, it seems like a huge amount where the prices have had to be lowered.  To be fair, many banks have, in the past, placed too high a value … (0 comments)

LA VERNE CONCERTS IN THE PARK, 2011 - 06/15/11 06:19 PM
Okay, so, if you can't tell, I really enjoy the local CONCERTS IN THE PARK.  I have enjoyed meeting friends, sitting on those park blankets and sharing snacks and drinks while listening to really good music.
This year, the concerts in LA VERNE will once again be held at HERITAGE PARK, Via de Mansion, La Verne, CA.  They will begin on Sunday, June 26th and be held every other Sunday evening at 6:30 pm.  It's a really fun date night or family time because even the kids get into the dancing!

Okay, so I was reading an article by Bloomberg News today.  It was talking about the proposal to increase down payments to 20%. It insinuates that by passing this measure we will be moving into "Rental Entrapment" for most Americans. Interesting because I have been reading quite a few blogs about this lately. 

In the first paragraph the article speaks to the fact that this would hurt millions of borrowers.  But in a blog by Brian Robertson I recently read here, the facts are that only ten percent of people getting loans would be affected.  That's not such a high … (5 comments)

GREG AUTRY (yes, of THOSE Autry's) has co-authored a book entitled "Death By China" .  Greg is speaking to various groups, including Chinese  Business Groups and now this upcoming week will be the host of a panel discussion once at The National Press Club and then again, with Congressman Dana Rohrbacher (R-CA) at Capitol Hill in Cannon 121.  See Flyer Below.

SAN DIMAS CONCERTS IN THE PARK - 06/10/11 04:53 PM
Okay, so the City of San Dimas is once again having it's SUMMER CONCERT SERIES at Civic Center Park on Bonita Avenue.  It's being held in conjunction with the farmer's market every Wednesday evening at 7PM starting this week.  The schedule can be seen HERE.

Okay, so this week in La Verne there are nine new listings.  Confidence seems to be coming back to the home market.  Six homes actually finished escrow and became sold... I love it that six families are sharing dinner in their new homes now.  After all, that's the goal, isn't it? Okay, so, I find it interesting. Last week in San Dimas we had nine backup offers and three that actually went into escrow.  And yet, five of those are now back on the market.  To me, that is a huge amount, almost 50%. And yet we continue to get new listings.  Eight more homes are now on the market, and most of those are standard sales, not short sales or REO'S.  The standard sales mean that either homes are coming onto the market that have enough equity not to be upside down or that investors have bought the homes and … (0 comments)

Okay, so here we are once again to review the real estate market in The City of San Dimas. Okay, so after last week's excitement in the City of La Verne, it seems like we are once again slowing down.  Three of the homes that were reported as in escrow (pending, backup offers) have fallen out and been placed back on the market.  With ten new listings coming on the market and only approximately five selling per week it would seem that we have a great supply of homes to choose from.  The fact that there were seventeen price changes indicates that the market is still sliding down; either that or agents are pricing things too high in the … (0 comments)

Okay, so this Saturday, June 4, 2011 there will be the most fun Rubber Ducky Race down the waterslides at Raging Waters Water Park in fabulous San Dimas.  The time is from 10AM to 1PM.  The annual charity event will benefit McKinley Children's Center also located in San Dimas.
