While I am not a financial advisor, I can and do point them to a couple of books I have read in my lifetime. I have gone through and select my favorites from the ones I have read and included them here for anyone who is interested in reading them. I have to admit, my all time favorite is Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover book. If you are in debt and trying to regain control over your finances, his book is great for giving you step by step instructions to achieve financial freedom. It is plain common sense and it works. Jordan's Entry To Sports Illustrated
ATHLETICS Jordan Ramus is already a national prospect in baseball listed as a follow among pro scouts. He is a youth baseball phenomenon redefining the making of a power hitter. At the age of (11) eleven, Jordan hit (21) over the fence homeruns this past season and hit (3) in a row in one game. This was accomplished in tough AAU competition and Cooperstown, NY among some of the best teams in the nation. Jordan's batting average was .652 with an on base percentage of .704 and a slugging percentage of .913. "Nobody Jordan's age professionally trains and works harder at hitting than Jordan does," says hitting coach Joe Martinez. "Jordan has huge projectability in becoming a five tool player. Jordan has extremely fast, strong and large hands, unbelievable mechanics having a very high baseball IQ. SCHOOL Jordan Ramus truly defines what a student athlete is all about. Over the last (5) years Jordan has been on the Principal Honor Roll every single quarter, all (5) years with straight A's. What makes Jordan special is that he is very well rounded, liked and respected by both his peers and teachers. At school, Jordan respects all of his classmates and sticks up for children that might be less fortunate than he. Jordan is extremely sensitive and caring to his friends and peers and genuinely cares about their well being. He mixes well with everybody and is a quiet leader by nature. Awards are the following: Principals Honor Roll, Academic Achievement, Perfect Attendance, Citizenship and Accelerated Reader! His recent 5th grade teacher knows that Jordan has something very special to offer the world.
COMMUNITY Jordan already knows what community is all about. His mother has recently battled breast cancer over the last (2) years and Jordan has seen friends and family rally to his mother's support learning that nothing should ever be taken for granted. By giving back to his mother with unconditional love and support that he never knew he gave her was his first beginnings of giving back. It just comes natural to Jordan. If I let Jordan, he would take in every stray animal; instead he has Lenny the Guinea Pig. Jordan has nurtured similar kids his age via friendships at the cancer center while there with his mother that had been going thru same ordeal as he, letting them know that their moms will be okay too. Jordan is not a "feel good for the moment" kid; he wants to make a real difference and has volunteered at the "Relay For Life" event with is mother and walked in "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" with his mom as well. Jordan's team this fall - The Scorpion Baseball Academy - is all about giving back to the community!
