Cary Ranked Safest City in North Carolina! - 11/23/10 04:25 PM
CQ Press just released its annual City Crime Report which ranks 400 U.S. cities with 75,000 or more people.  Cary came in as the 8th safest city (and number #1 in North Carolina).  Cary fared well because of its low rates for murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, and car theft. 
Raleigh made the list as the #164th safest city with Durham coming in at #284.

SOUTHEAST EXTENSION STUDY
Nov. 4, 2010: RALEIGH--The N.C. Turnpike Authority today announced that three routes being studied for the Southeast Extension project have been eliminated from further consideration. These routes, known as the Blue, Purple and Yellow Corridors will no longer be considered potential routes for the project. They are being eliminated because of high impacts to neighborhoods, community resources, and the natural environment, and because of public input.
