Some interesting news items in past couple of days: 1. A Canadian bank reports that 72% of Canadians are in debt. If interest rates rose, many would not be able to pay their mortgages/would lose their houses. Disturbing.... 2. The recent census notes that Canada is close to the point where the majority of the population will be seniors. Again, an alert by a bank to younger people, cautioning them to start saving for their retirement years now...a warning that the bulging seniors segment will have obliterated the social safety net. 3. Sliding into Summer? In spirit, for sure! This La Nina year has delivered a mixed bag of unusual weather patterns, globally. On the Pacific Northwest Coast, we seem to have been through a long late Fall...grey, rain events, windstorms, needing Fall weight clothing, even in May.
