Friday Night Lights...in Loudoun County, VA - 08/31/11 04:54 PM
The 2011-2012 school year is now underway, and with a new school year comes a new Fall football season! Loudoun County Public Schools currently boasts 12 high schools all with varsity football programs. Any given Friday Fall night, you can catch game, usually accompanied by a marching band half-time performance. Long established varsity football and marching band programs can be found at Loudoun's three oldest high schools: Loudoun County HS in Leesburg, Park View HS in Sterling, and Loudoun Valley HS in Purcellville. However, the newest schools, Woodgrove HS in Purcellville, and Tuscarora HS in Leesburg, are not to be discounted … (2 comments)

The Annual Lucketts Fair, Loudoun Co, VA - 08/18/11 06:35 PM
An annual tradition marking the beginning of the end of summer here in Loudoun is The Lucketts Fair.   Centered around the historic Old Lucketts School, the fair features many attractions such as pony rides, a petting zoo, live entertainment, live blue grass music, great food and more.  Many quality antique and craft vendors are in attendance for your shopping & browsing pleasure.  Free rides on the Lucketts Firestation fire trucks are offered and always a lot of fun for the kids!  2011 marks the 39th year of the Fair and the old-fashioned fun keeps the crowds coming back year after … (0 comments)
