buy condo: Life on Other Planets - What Do You Believe? Check This Out! - 09/30/10 02:38 AM
I can't remember the last time a bit of news got me this excited. (I'll bet Vegas Bob is jumping up and down right now!) If you haven't read about the most recently found planet in the "Goldilocks Zone", you have to check out this article... "Could Goldilocks Planet Be Just Right for Life?" What got me the most excited was this one quote- "...because conditions are ideal for liquid water, and because there always seems to be life on Earth where there is water, Vogt believes that chances for life on this planet are 100 percent." I don't know about

buy condo: Speechless Sunday-Snow in July? ... in Florida!!?? - 07/25/10 11:19 PM
Can it be!?? No, of course not. It's just a Snowy Egret :-D My brother took this photo. And I think he did a great job on this one (except for the date stamp), so I decided to share it. (This is from the bro who took those crazy weather shots over the ocean!) But this one's much more peaceful. And this little guy doesn't seem to mind if his feathers are getting ruffled. If you're interested in buying or selling real estate in the Daytona Beach area, I'd love to help. I'm a Daytona Beach native, with experience selling

buy condo: Embrace Your Unique Gifts, Talents and Abilities. Be the Best YOU, that You Can Be! - 02/22/10 01:48 PM
A little while ago, I read this blog post by Gary Woltal called "Is Your Camel Parked in the Right Desert?". I felt the need to share it, because it spoke volumes to me. As REALTORS®, most of us are constantly trying to better ourselves. We read and study and learn, with the intention of bettering ourselves, and providing better service to our customers. We even do our required continuing education, plus study for even more real estate education and designations. All this is good for us, and for our real estate customers! But how often do we blame ourselves for

buy condo: I HATE TO SAY "I TOLD YOU SO", but. . . . . . . "OBAMA TO LIMIT MORTGAGE INTEREST DEDUCTION!" - 02/02/10 12:12 AM
Daytona Beach area real estate buyers and sellers; this mortgage information will affect us all! thank you Len, for providing this impacting insight! (Scroll down to read the original blog post by a very insightful real estate blogger.) Via Lenn Harley, Homefinders.com, MD & VA Homes and Real Estate: LIMITS ON MORTGAGE INTEREST DEDUCTION was once a "sacred cow" of tax law. No more. The American home owner is square in the sights of the budget released today. On October 25, 2008, a bolt of lightening struck me and I realized that there is no income protection safe from the

buy condo: A Silly Saturday Video. Just a Tiny Touch of OCD as I Rearrange My Office - 10/24/09 02:54 AM
It's Silly Saturday again! I stumbled across this old video a few days ago, and set it aside for today =D Yes I sped the video up a bit... have to keep things interesting ;-) Anyway, I bought some new decor for the walls in my office, and had some trouble getting everything to look balanced =/ Then I got this totally unrelated phone call... LOL. It seems that while I was trying to get my office just right, my husband was at home, rearranging MY shelves in the garage O.o NOT cool! LOL (And yes, I have just a

buy condo: Good Faith Estimates - Knowing & Understanding the Power of the paper!!! - 05/20/09 03:07 AM
When buying real estate, obtaining a mortgage is frequently a part of the buying process. It's also a part of the process that many real estate buyers know very little about. And unfortunately, as a REALTOR®, in my experience, when I've tried to stress this importance to my real estate buyers, they don't always take me seriously enough (because they don't understand). But yesterday I found a fantastic blog about this exact subject. Here on Active Rain, there are a few mortgage lenders whom I trust to supply me with accurate mortgage information. They stay abreast of industry changes and alert

buy condo: Taking a Tour of Daytona Beach "City Island" - 04/25/09 12:52 PM
Today was one of my favorite types of days. It always amazes me that being a Daytona Beach native, living in Port Orange, that there are so many things to do, that I often forget all there is to do and see. This morning I had an appointment with a real estate buyer who wants to buy an oceanfront condo in Daytona Beach. And we have some unbelievable bargains for sale in condos on the ocean! But this buyer is in the beginning stages of her search, so after meeting with her and sharing some information, I headed home, over the

buy condo: Buy or Lease a Daytona Beach Condo - 06/17/08 08:56 PM
As most of you know, for quite some time I've been blogging about the condo conversion project I have listed, Surfside Villas in Daytona Beach. I originally listed these beautifully remodeled condos "For Sale", but with the real estate market moving at the speed of sludge, the seller decided to lease the units while waiting for them to sell. We now have only 5 of the 42 units left unoccupied. The remaining unoccupied units are all 1 bedroom units. Unfortunately, all of the 2 bedroom units have been leased for quite some time. But the 1 bedroom units are absolutely beautiful

buy condo: South Daytona Real Estate Sales: 2007 Year in Review - 01/20/08 07:29 PM
As I continue to provide you with updates on real estate in 2007 for the Daytona Beach area, in post number 7, (this post) we'll cover South Daytona. South Daytona is located to the immediate south of Daytona Beach, but does not extend to the beachside/peninsula. However, South Daytona does have some exquisite luxury homes on the Intracoastal Waterway and the U.S.1 corridor in that area is under completely redevelopment. Commercial buildings are eligible for government grants to freshen up the city. Some other added bonuses are the riverfront parks, plenty of sidewalks, more affordable homes than you'll found in Port

buy condo: Choose Wisely When Selecting Your REALTORĀ® - 09/28/07 07:06 PM
If you live in the Daytona Beach Florida area, you probably know that we've had no lack of REALTORS® here. But did you know that many of them are dropping out of the business? The overall sales have been too slow to sustain the number of REALTORS® we had. Too many agents got their real estate licenses in hopes of getting rich quick, in the boom that prevailed for several years. And of the ones that remain, many more are working second jobs, leaving little time to effectively service their clients. Very quickly, let me point out a few important

buy condo: RECYCLING IN VOLUSIA COUNTY - 07/11/07 08:12 PM
I am proud to be posting this information about Volusia County, Florida. For anyone who's concerned about our atmosphere, which should be everyone, I have some great news for those who live in Volusia County, Florida. Until now, residents of unincorporated areas of Volusia County were only able to recycle items coded 1 and 2. Now, they'll be able to recycle items coded 1 through 7. This may sound strange to residents who live within the incorporated areas, but prior to July 1, 2007, the unincorporated areas were unable to recycle their margarine tubs, cottage cheese tubs, sour cream containers, yogurt cups,

buy condo: Daytona Beach Condo Projects - 06/26/07 10:49 PM
In July of 2005, Daytona Beach area pre-construction condo sales hit a record high, according to the Florida Association of Realtors. And one year ago, 2 dozen condominium complexes were under construction in Volusia and Flagler counties, while at the present time, 16 of them are in various stages of completion. According to Daytona Beach city planners and developers, only a handful of new condos projects will be launched in 2008, as investors are reluctant to risk further millions of dollars, while new sales lag, and growing numbers of condo buyers are forfeiting their existing contracts. The good news is, condo buyers

buy condo: The House Appraised for How Much? - 06/15/07 10:24 AM
I have to share this story of how a sale that got way off track, a few years ago, due to an appraisal problem on a house I sold in Port Orange FL. It started with the Port Orange listing I had for a family I have known for many years. The buyer for their house was someone who went to church with them. After many twists and turns in her financing, she was finally able to close. On the flip side, I was also working with the family whose listing I had, to help them buy their next home. We found
