buy real estate in daytona beach: Daytona Beach Real Estate Listings - Sales - Foreclosures for 2009 - 02/07/10 10:07 PM
As a follow-up to my recent post titled "Daytona Beach Real Estate Listings and Sales 2000-2009 Market Reports", I decided to write this post, which shows just how many of the 2009 sales were foreclosures and short sales. Once again, I've included a bar graph. And for statistical purposes, on this graph I've also posted the actual numbers of how many of these real estate sales were along the lines of foreclosures, pre-foreclosures and short sales. As you can see by the sales numbers, a significant number of the 2009 real estate sales for the city of Daytona Beach were

buy real estate in daytona beach: Jackie Robinson Ball Park and the Daytona Cubs - 02/25/09 10:59 PM
Over a year ago, I blogged about The Daytona Cubs, and Jackie Robinson Ball Park. And I decided it's time to remind Daytona Beach residents, visitors, and potential real estate buyers about this inexpensive way to spend an evening with family and friends, and about the fascinating history involved. Did you know that Daytona Beach's Jackie Robinson Ball Park was originally built in 1940? Did you also know that it was at this very park where Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in baseball, when he played in the first ever, racially integrated spring-training game? At the time he was a

buy real estate in daytona beach: Thieves in Real Estate - 11/09/07 05:55 PM
No, this is not going to be news about dishonest real estate agents or mortgage brokers. The media is doing more than enough coverage on that blame game. This is about another way real estate buyers and new home builders are losing money. This is about thieves who steel from construction sites. My husband installs home theater, surround sound and alarm systems in some very high-end, luxury homes; most of which are new construction. With the real estate market being as sluggish as it is, you'd think his work would be slow too. But it's not, because they keep having to redo

buy real estate in daytona beach: Florida Real Estate Taxes or Insurance? Which is the bigger issue? - 10/05/07 01:27 PM
I was just reading a comment on one of my recent posts about Florida's huge property tax problem. The comment was from Katrina Madewell regarding our property insurance issue. Katrina mentioned that the focus had shifted from insurance, to the taxes. I personally believe that whether real estate taxes or real estate insurance is the bigger issue, is determined by what area of the state you live in. Katrina is a REALTOR® on the west coast of Florida, while I'm a REALTOR® on the east coast. In the Daytona Beach area, most REALTORS® and buyers will tell you it's the property

buy real estate in daytona beach: Want to Know a Real Estate Secret? - 09/10/07 11:55 PM
Want to know a secret? Daytona Beach Florida is not what you think! Really, it’s not. If you’ve read some of my previous posts, you’ll know that Daytona Beach only makes up a very small portion of the Daytona Beach Area. What many people think is Daytona Beach is really 9 different cities that are each only a few miles wide. The borders even wrap around each other in some areas. So what are these cities? Well I’m glad you asked. We’ll start at the northern end and work our way to the southern end of the area that is

buy real estate in daytona beach: Former home of John D. Rockefeller in Ormond Beach, FL - 08/17/07 06:49 PM
Here's another interesting historical fact about the Daytona Beach area. Located in Ormond Beach, just 10 minutes north of Daytona Beach, is the former winter home of John D. Rockefeller. This home named The Casements, for the many casement windows that adorn the building, was built in 1910 and purchased by John D. Rockefeller in 1918. Mr. Rockefeller also died in the home in May of 1937. The family sold it in 1939. This beautiful piece of history is on the National Register of Historic Places and now serves as a cultural center for Ormond Beach with creative experiences for all
