college: Wordless Wednesday: Never Too Old to Finger-Paint? - 02/24/10 06:19 PM
So my daughter is now a sophomore in college, and they're... finger-painting? Hmm. You'd think they would have outgrown this by now. Oh wait... you don't suppose it could be in the genes do you? *Gasp!?* LOL
And the finished product is... 2 giant banners for the teams who are now going to play outdoor sporting games in the mud. >.<
And for this, we spend the first 17+ years pushing them for good grades, wholesome activities, and a well-rounded personality, so we can then spend Un-Godly amounts of money on college, in hopes that they'll eventually become … (15 comments)

I was just reading a blog post by Russel Lewis, which reminded me that the time has come. This week, many parents are jumping for joy as their children go back to school. Others are finding the situation a bit more stressful.
At 19, this is the week my daughter begins her sophomore year of college. Thankfully, her college is only an hour or so away, so she gets to come home most weekends. One of these days I'm going to really embarass her and have one of my fellow Active Rain bloggers check in on her. (insert evil laugh here) … (4 comments)

college: The "Cool" College in Daytona Beach vs "un-cool" colleges - 08/22/08 01:51 AM
Yesterday I wrote a blog about what was previously Daytona Beach Community College; now Daytona State College. In that post, I made a comment about my daughter using Florida's Bright Future's Scholarship to attend her college of choice, because apparently it was uncool to attend college in the city where you were born and raised.
Well, I received a comment on that blog post by a current student of Daytona State College, who has his own blog about DSC, and wrote a post in response to my own. Apparently Richard X. Thripp didn't like my comment about my daughter thinking … (4 comments)
