nature: Port Orange lesser known facts. Our barn owl and Norfolk Pine tree - 04/08/08 09:59 PM
Very cool creatures indeed, are the majestic owls who live in the beautiful Countryside Community of Port Orange, FL. I was recently reading a post by Mike Jones, about the owl and her nest, that was found under an overpass bridge in Tucson, AZ. His story prompted me to write this post.Let me start by saying, in my back yard is the most beautiful Norfolk Pine tree. I know everyone thinks Florida is supposed to be filled with Palm trees, and we certainly have our fair share, but my favorite tree is the Norfolk Pine. Now regular pine trees I can do

I was born and raised, and sell real estate in Daytona Beach, FL. Of course, throughout my life, I've visited South Florida many times, and am always fascinated by the obvious differences in our flora and fauna. Daytona Beach, although considered to be part of central Florida, is actually closer to the north part of the state. As such, when you spend time in the southern part of the state, you see the obvious sub-tropical (and HOT) climatic change. This change of climate is especially evident in nature.
