OK. Lets's face it. You're going to be looking at pictures of my daughter, any time I have the opportunity to post them =P But no modeling shots this time... well, at least they weren't "official" modeling shots. But she's always been a ham for the camera. So until I can find the video of her hamming it up after a dance recital to Michael Jackson's "Thriller" (it's hilarious) I'll just post the still shots for now. I call these "Emo Zombie". =P

This morning as I was going through my e-mails that came in overnight, I found a couple of LinkedIn requests from some fellow Rainers. If you have LinkedIn, you know that as you accept new people into your network, it brings up other business associates that you may know, based on the fact that you have commonalities with them. As you all know, this is my real estate blog. But sometimes we like to change things up a bit. And today is a perfect day to combine some of our (my) favorite things. Last week I listed a townhouse, and after church today, I went there to take photos for the MLS, my web site, and the blog I'll be posting soon. Since this is a tenant-occupied property, I made small-talk with the tenant while taking photos. Then the conversation took an interesting turn. This prompted me to have the same conversation with my daughter when I got home. Imagine my surprise when I got a similar response! Surely Daytona Beach residents haven't already forgotten about our area code change, and the accompanying propaganda at that time!

I love sunsets. As I was reading a blog here on Active Rain, by Eileen Begley, featuring sunsets in her home town, I got the idea to write a blog featuring sunsets in the area where I live and sell real estate. It's actually all of East Volusia County, and even beyond that, but I have a habit of taking photos of sunsets. I have a lot of them! This is such an overly discussed topic that I'm reluctant to bring it up again; but I'm concerned with what I'm finding on other real estate sites, about the houses and condos that I've listed. I was recently reading a post by Brian Brady about Zillow's new program that allows their advertisers to have their face and links show up at the top of their real estate pages, while Trulia is penalizing their advertisers by inserting the "no-follow" code into their advertiser's links. Whether you're already a resident of Volusia county, or if you're considering a move to this beautiful area, I think you'll enjoy the photo slide show below. These are pictures I've been accumulating for quite some time. As a REALTOR , it's customary to have my camera with me at all times, since I never know when a real estate seller will call me and ask me to come take a look at their house. Bad real estate photos. We've all seen them. And we've read posts about them and seen videos about them, etc., etc. And still they continue. I realize that some people are never going to have an eye for the right angle and light. But why not experiment with turning the lights on or off, and/or just take 15 shots of the same subject, from different angles until you get it right? Just getting the entire house in the shot would be an improvement sometimes. Or how about asking someone to step out of the frame?

If you're like me, at one time or another, you've been completely clueless about copyrighted photos that you find on the internet. Google makes is easy to find any photo you want just by typing in a subject, then clicking "images". It doesn't get any easier than that to find whatever you want to make your posts pop. But you have no way of knowing if these are copyrighted. I guess the rule of thumb is to assume everything is copyrighted unless it says otherwise.
