ponce inlet: Sailing Away, "Captain Ron" Style - 07/08/10 12:30 AM
I was just reading (and viewing) a photo blog post by Mike Mitchell titled "Sailing". As I commented on his post, it reminded me of the days when I met my husband. He had sold a lucrative business in Michigan, bought a sailboat (a Hudson Force 50) and taken a 2 year sabbatical. Since he didn't have much else to do, he was taking my aerobics class all the time. (For about 23 years I taught all kinds of fitness classes. I was always able to supplement my income and get a free gym membership, and there were even times when

ponce inlet: Ponce Inlet Photo: Walkway Among the Dunes - 07/08/09 03:42 AM
Hello Ponce Inlet potential real estate buyers and sellers, and those of you who just like the (not so) Wordless Wednesday photo blogs (<< follow this link to the Wordless Wednesday description). As usual, I'm providing you with a brief intro to this particular blog post, without describing the photo. Not describing the photo leaves you free to let your creative juices flow, and pick what you like from the image. Although, for this one, I may provide some additional information in another post tomorrow. But today, I'm interested in your thoughts. There are quite a few details in this photo.

ponce inlet: Wordless Wednesday Explanation for my Readers. Hungry Anyone? - 06/04/09 12:18 AM
It's good to have variety. For my readers who are wondering what this "Wordless Wednesday" stuff is about, I didn't come up with this concept. Just what is this "concept"? The idea is to insert posts into our regular blogs, that are all about one particular photo. There are many Active Rain participants who have been following this idea for quite a while now. But I only started a couple of weeks ago. And I'm loving it! I don't know why I didn't start partcipating sooner. A bit more information... When participating in Wordless Wednesday, if Active Rain bloggers want to

ponce inlet: Ponce Inlet FL Photos: Historical Landmarks by REALTOR® Lisa Hill - 05/03/09 09:45 PM
Anyone who knows me well, knows how much I enjoy writing Localism posts, and I love taking photos. So I was thrilled to find out there was a new Localism contest being run by some fantastic groups here on Active Rain. This contest allows me to focus on two of my favorite pastimes. There are five Active Rain groups working together to coordinate this contest. And being that I was already a member of three of these groups, I knew I wanted to participate. But I was left with a big dilemma. The subject of this contest is "Landmarks". And with

It's time for me to continue with my first quarter real estate reports for each city in East Volusia County. For the 1st Quarter of 2009 we're comparing New Listings, Total Number of Listings and the Number of Sales for each city. And for some cities I've separated the condo listings and sales from the houses or in one particular city (Daytona Beach Shores) we looked at the totals for each category, then just pulled the condos into a seperate category. So far we've covered Port Orange, South Daytona, Daytona Beach and Daytona Beach Shores. In this post we're going to

If you're a resident of Port Orange, we have several important dates to mark on our calendars in the upcoming weeks. To keep anyone from getting overwhelmed, I'm going to break up the information a little bit. For this blog post, I'm going to focus on everyone who loves to play at the All Children's Park on Spruce Creek Rd, near Central Park Blvd., in Port Orange. It's hard to believe, but All Children's Park is now twenty years old! Obviously, over the course of twenty years, the playground equipment has become weathered and worn. The good news is, two large

ponce inlet: Real Estate and Home Town Blogs for Consumers - Featured Posts for Localism - 11/27/08 01:50 AM
Today I decided to scroll through my "blog history" here on the Active Rain Real Estate Network and discovered some interesting information about my Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach, Port Orange, Ponce Inlet and other miscellaneous home town real estate blog posts. My history on Active Rain began in April of 2007. I filled out my profile on April 3. On April 5 I sent out some invitations, and two of my associates joined. And on April 11, I started commenting, and posted 2 blogs. OK, so that's not exactly exciting news. So I'll get to the point. I write a lot

ponce inlet: Sunsets and Real Estate from Daytona Beach, Port Orange, Ponce Inlet & More - 11/04/08 12:14 AM
I love sunsets. As I was reading a blog here on Active Rain, by Eileen Begley, featuring sunsets in her home town, I got the idea to write a blog featuring sunsets in the area where I live and sell real estate. It's actually all of East Volusia County, and even beyond that, but I have a habit of taking photos of sunsets. I have a lot of them! So I thought I'd share them with you =) I should mention that a couple of these photos were taken by a friend of mine. I just couldn't resist using them, since

ponce inlet: Real Estate Tools for the Techie or the Not So Techie... The Sony Mylo - 11/01/08 10:37 PM
For all you real estate tech geeks, you might like this. But then, you probably already know about the Sony Mylo®. From what I can see, it looks like the perfect text messaging gadget. The way the keypad is laid out, it looks very easy to use, and keep in contact with your real estate sellers and buyers, and other REALTORS® who want to show your listings. And if it does what it claims it can do, I would be fully on board with the social networking peeps. (I'm only about 50% on board right now... chalk it up to a

ponce inlet: Can You Find Things to Do, When You Know Nothing About Your Current Location? - 08/25/08 04:16 AM
Have you ever thought about how you would find inexpensive things to do in a particular city or area? I'm not talking about your home town, or even a vacation destination. I'm talking about moving to a new location and knowing very little about the area. Most of you will probably have your mental wheels turning. First of all, set aside the thought of how that could possibly happen. We'll get to that later. Once you get past that, you're probably thinking you can just go find a visitor's guide, or do an online search, or even ask some local

If you're vacationing in the Daytona Beach area, there's a good possibility that you're considering buying real estate here. I know this because I've received many calls lately from real estate buyers who will be here within the next few weeks and months, to purchase their winter homes. Before I proceed with this post, I'd like to welcome our new crowd of snowbirds who join us every winter. And a big welcome to my 2 year buyers who have finally sold their 228 year house in CT! We have some great houses lined up for viewing tomorrow. I wanted to
