My daughter Ashley who is away at school called a few days ago to remind me it was the Carmen's Birthday (Carmen is our Chocolate Cocker Spaniel). Ashley wanted to know what I had planned and how would we celebrate this special day. I replied that Carmen had no idea it was her birthday and if she knew she was aging 7 years for every 1 she would be depressed and have nothing to celebrate.
Giving in as all parents do, I dressed Carmen up, baked her a cake (from an organic doggy recipe), made her a special dinner and celebrated her birthday.
