miscellaneous ramblings: Looking Forward to the Weekend

This is the weekend I been looking forward to! My three closings this month are done- 2 went off without a hitch while the the 3rd had a few bumps and hiccups along the way. I'll put in a few hours at the office tomorrow getting my files in order. I'll get paperwork to my AA for processing, and then put the files into the 2008 closed file cabinet. Hopefully the weather will stay nice tomorrow and I'll spend some time walking down Nassau St and enjoying Communiversity day. It's great to be busy, it's great to have clients, but it's really great to close!

Yesterday I wrote a blog about having to eat my words regarding a closing date mix-up. I mentioned that today we would doing the walk through. The buyer had already driven by the house yesterday just to confirm that the movers were there, and they were. So far, so good. I anticipated a quick 15 minute walk through. I got there shortly before the buyers and began to look through the house and into closets. I was not happy. Listen closely ...that sound you hear ...that's just me, eating my words!! A few weeks ago I wrote a post about clutter, and mentioned that I had reassured my client that I never had a closing postponed because the seller didn't pack up and move on time. Well, it seems the words were hardly out of my mouth when I got slapped by fate? karma? who knows what? To make a tedious and annoying story short, here's the 30 second version. My husband and I, along with my son and daughter, just got back from High Point, NC this evening. We spent the last two days enrolling my middle son into High Point University for the upcoming fall semester. My husband and I had split up the college tour duties that have been all-encompassing over the last two summers and this was my first chance to view the university that my son has chosen over his other acceptances as the one he wants to call "home" for the next four years.
