Here are some ideas about where to go in several area towns. Montgomery, Wednesday, July 2 Festivities begin at 6:00 on the lawns in front of Montgomery Hogh School. Food, drink, activities and trinkets, all provided by local organization will be available. Music provided by the band The Infernos from 7:30 -9:00 PM. Fireworks at 9:00 Princeton, Wednesday, July 2 The fireworks celebration will be held in the field adjacent to Princeton Stadium, along Western Way. gates will open at 7:00PM. The 15th annual Montgomery Rodeo will be galloped into town this weekend. There's still time to ride on over to the show and events tomorrow, at 2 p.m. with gates at the Daube Farm on Sunset Road opening 1½ hours early. The show is rain or shine.
Events will include bull riding, bronco riding, team penning, calf roping and other specialty acts. Tickets cost $15 for adults, $13 for seniors over 65 and students 18 and under.Proceeds go to local charities and organizations, with the event having raised over $675,000 for those organizations over its first 14 years. Come on over to the Lower Middle School Cafetorium on Sunday, June 8 from 1PM -5PM and enjoy delicious strawberry shortcake and ice cream while you enjoy the music of the always popular Blawenburg Band, the Montgomery High School Jazz Ensemble and Stage Band and the Montgomery Middle School Jazz Band. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

The Montgomery Relay for Life will begin 6 p.m. Saturday at Cougar Stadium at Montgomery High School, and all are invited to attend and show support for all whose lives have been affected by cancer. Sponsored by the American Cancer Society, activities will include music with a DJ, the lighting of luminaria, and the running of the signature relay.
People currently suffering from cancer and cancer survivors will run the first lap around the track, and then, on the second loop around, survivors will be joined by their caregivers.After that anyone wishing to can take part can join the race. (0 comments)
