Brookings will have a Festival of Homes, sponsored by our local Chetco Federal Credit Union, on Saturday August 25th and on Sunday August 26th. This will be the biggest open house of the year with many Realtors participating. There will be an abundance of homes on tour and free maps with list of homes is available.
Realtors will be available to assist home buyers during this event. On Saturday August 25th from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM and on Sunday August 26th from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM.

July Residential Highlights
Closed sales rose 14.3% when comparing July 2007 with July 2006. New listings were also up 11.4%.  Pending sales, however, dropped 12.1%.
Year-to-Date Trends
Comparing January-July 2007 with the same period in 2006, new listings were down 7.8%. Closed sales also fell a slight .6%, and pending sales decreased 3.7%.
Appreciation
Comparing the 12 months ending with July 2007 to the 12 immediately prior, average sale price appreciated a slight 1.1% ($318,100 v. $314,600). On the other hand, using the same formula reveals that the median sale price decreased 3.5% ($275,000 … (3 comments)

Closed sales and accepted offers decreased 19.2% and 22.2% respectively when comparing May 2007 to May 2006. New listings also dropped 24%.
Year-to-Date Trends
Comparing January-May 2007 to January-May 2006, closed sales were up a slight 0.9%. However, pending sales decreased 3.2%. The number of new listings also dropped 6.5%.
Appreciation
Comparing the 12 months ending with May 2007 to the 12 immediately prior, average sale price fell 3.8% ($316,500 v. $329,000). Using the same formula we can see that the median sale price also decreased 7.7% ($275,000 … (3 comments)

I have recently have been doing a study that looks at the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt and I learned so much from it.
I never really understood that the trip from Egypt to Israel was only 12 miles of a straight walk. And it took them 40 years to make that trip because they kept wandering in the desert. When you look at all that happened to them during that time, they made so many unwise decisions that led to painful consequences over and over again.
