rocky mountain natiional park: Rocky Mountain National Park give top honors by Trip Advisor - 05/07/10 12:14 PM
Greetings from Estes Park! Trip advisor just included Rocky Mountain National Park in the top 25 outdoor adventure destinations world-wide! We are so proud of our National Park, just outside our door in Estes Park, Colorado. Many recently retired residents volunteer in the Park in the summer to assist visitors from all over the world appreciate our mountain wilderness. The school kids in Estes Park benefit as well, with the opportunity for annual field trips lead by Rangers to various regions of the RMNP to explore archaelogical finds, eco-systems and the history of the establishment of Rocky Mountain National Park in

rocky mountain natiional park: Go take a hike...in Estes Park, Colorado - 12/30/09 09:28 AM
Greetings from Estes Park! Even with the wintry weather upon us, it's still a great time to put on those snow boots and take a hike here in Estes Park. (might even give you a jump start on a few of those New Year's resolutions...) We not only have great shopping and restaurants here in town, but the most spectacular backyard ever! Lily Lake, located south of Estes Park and north of Allenspark on HWY 7, is a wonderful place for a winter hike...with or without snowshoes. Parking is right off the highway and the trail is level around the small

rocky mountain natiional park: Trail Ridge Road Opens between Estes Park and Grand Lake, Colorado! - 05/25/09 09:49 AM
Greetings from Estes Park! Trail Ridge Road is finally open between Grand Lake and Estes Park. This road winds through Rocky Mountain National Park and goes over an elevation of 11,000 feet above sea level. The road is open usually between Memorial Day and sometime in October when the snow piles back up again. We hopped in the car and drove to the top yesterday...it's always fun to see the snow cuts the road crew had to make to get the road open. Photos were taken, snowballs flew (with three boys...REALLY???) and we had a great time before it started to

rocky mountain natiional park: Golf Course Elk - 12/12/08 09:16 PM
Greetings from Estes Park! They say that elk are not the most intelligent of creatures...however, they do seem to be smart enough to hang out on the golf course when there are hunters around! Yesterday, on the way to school, the elk were crossing the highway on their way back to the golf course for the day, and there was an "elk-jam" on HWY 7 for a mile! (you can't use elk as an excuse for being tardy just anywhere...) I took this photo just before it started snowing, we are expecting an arctic blast this weekend and the elk herd

rocky mountain natiional park: I have the greatest customers! - 10/29/08 10:17 AM
I was showing property yesterday and had the thought that I am so fortunate to be able to work with some of the most wonderful, interesting people. My customer recently completed his 300th ascent of Long's Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park, and is the former Long's Peak ranger. He has some amazing stories to tell and is in the process of writing a book about his experiences. He is an accomplished trumpet player and also has a rather wicked sense of humor... After living in Park Service housing for years, I have the privilege of helping him purchase his first

rocky mountain natiional park: October in Estes Park - 10/22/08 06:16 PM
It's a gorgeous fall day here in Estes Park! We're looking forward to one of the most fun local events of the season...Trick or Treating! Due to our mountainous terrain, we close off the downtown streets, and the "kids" go from shop to shop to collect their goodies. If you have the chance, plan to come up to Estes for a little Halloween fun. (it would be a great time to spend a night in the haunted Stanley Hotel...) I just returned from the Colorado Association of Realtors annual convention at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. What a fantastic experience!
