Federal CAN-SPAM law updates: Email Marketing Basics You Should Knowby Lisa Wells In 2003, the Federal government enacted the CAN-SPAM Act to oversee and provide protective guidelines for email marketing campaigns. Recently, the Federal Trade Commission announced four new rules or requirements in CAN-SPAM that you should know if you engage in email marketing [this includes e-newsletters or any email that you send out that contains a marketing message for your product or service].
