Today was my day to get my hair done. Now that is already something special that is guaranteed to make my day enjoyable. I really like the man who cuts my hair - his name is George and his salon is at the Four Seasons Hotel in Georgetown. I always like to see George. He has a heavy Turkish accent and sometimes the salon is noisy with lots of hair dryers blowing... so I don't always understand him.... but I always like to see George!

What does your follow up look like? This is such an important post to read and then act on it! Are your past clients in Brivity, Top Producer, Excel or at least an index card in a box in your car? It doesn't matter what your system is as long as you have one and you use it!

Today is the start of my 26th year in real estate and there are lots of things that I didn't really appreciate when I started - but here are some of the things I think I remember!
By the time I got my license, we had access electronically to the multiple listing service - but no internet per se. We logged onto the server through a dial up modem and used a little machine that printed listings on curly thermal fax paper. I love my hometown, Washington! Every day the city seems to stretch its arms and take back another block from abandoned and weed filled to turn it into a really cool neighborhood. What I love about Baltimore is its history - not the obvious things like Francis Scott Key and Fort McHenry or the Constellation, but the small history like Corned Beef Row, Pig Town, and Brewers Hill, which reflect the evolution of the city.
Baltimore is an intensely ethnic neighborhood - unlike Washington, DC, its neighbor to the south. Baltimore celebrates its ethnicity - like Chicago. My favorite pizza in Bethesda is Mia's at 4926 Cordell Avenue. I love the carmelized onion and pancetta with gruyere and thyme - the Alsatian. Another one my daughter and I can NEVER pass up is the fig and prosciutto. When the weather is warm I love to sit outside and drink a glass of Chianti with my husband on the patio in front of the restaurant. There are lots of Bethesda pizza places, from Domino's and Papa John's to the upscale hand tossed variety, but Mia's is definitely my favorite.
