1998: Swiss Air 111 Memorial Site * Peggy's Cove * Whalesback Beach * Nova Scotia - 10/30/08 09:10 PM

Leaving Peggy's Cove, the afternoon had warmed nicely. I carried on, windows open, great jazz playing, cruising Nova Scotia sun-washed ocean highways. Driving past this site, I swung back around to check it out. It began to make sense as I read the description in the parking lot. I remembered it in the news (10) years back.

The stone, here at Whalesback Beach, points out toward the site of the crash of Swiss Air 111.

It amazed me , in startling little bits, looking into the faces of the people here. One expects sorrow. It seemed however, that everyone here felt the same thing I … (15 comments)
