interior design: Room Architecture in Interior Design * Living Spaces Kelowna - 11/01/08 10:14 PM
What is the first thing to consider with the design of an empty space? Room architecture. What is the first thing to consider when re-decorating a room? Room architecture. Room Architecture Acknowledge the actual skeleton of a room - the form, lines, millwork, windows, size, scale, ceiling and floor planes Focus FIRST on the actual bones of a room, BEFORE what to fill it up with Recognize the common and extraordinary planes - vaulting, gables, angles, etc. Space is expensive. Make the most of it, instead of diminishing it with excess ‘decorating'. Pay attention to structure and do everything

interior design: Effective Interior Lighting * Living Spaces Interior Design Kelowna - 11/01/08 10:12 PM
Lighting Least understood, yet most effective and essential interior application Usually inadequately applied, misunderstood, under-used, under-rated Developers and builders cheap out on lighting design Not enough credibility given to effective design - lighting and interior design Lamps used more as accessories rather than for actual effective task or ambience Effective Lighting Design - consider using a lighting designer Enhances room architecture Enhances Dimension, Color, Form Enhances the elements of design Enhances everything in a room Because lighting enhances everything in an interior, it minimizes the need for a lot of decorating accessories and furnishings. Aren't we leaving the city behind to engage in the wilderness?Property owners who don't rent their ski homes have more flexibility to design in whatever way they wish. With construction buzzing year round in BC, Ski Resort Decor is seasonable in the 'off season'! Obviously spring is the time for getting a great head start on chalet, condo & cabin interiors outfitting & arrangement ready to go for the snow season in November. The rush is really on in the autumn. I've met the 'snowfall' deadlines, but with a lot of scurrying! Svelt Italian Modern decor is making appearances at the resorts. However, if you own a rental property, you likely well know that skiers are rough on rental and lodge properties. Certainly you would not use glass, or otherwise sleek smooth surfaces in these interiors for ski boots & gear to be landing on and scraped across! It is always best

Down Home Rustic COUNTRY WESTERN FURNITURE for Interior home Decor applications can be a frustration to access. Furnishings & Accessories for Wilderness Country Theme echoing early North American West lifestyle are in demand for vacation, mountain & country homes, such as the chalet, log cabin, ranch house, etc. From nailhead leathers to antler chandeliers, rustic hewn woods and metals, where do you find it? Believe it, retailers in this genre are few and far between. However, a significant demand exists. Rising to meet the demand are online shopping sources, which makes perfect sense for this sparce, yet distinct market. Lots of Leather Art PrintOwen, Chris Buy Western Art

interior design: Cowgirl Paintings Western Country Decor Art Reproduction Prints - 04/26/08 11:36 AM
Can't find western art? A great source for Western Country Cowboy & Cowgirl Paintings Art Reproduction is at hand! I have a great source to pass on available in many countries. I grew up in a small prairie farm town where my ancestors had pioneered. My grandmother was a woman of grit! Running her grain farming operation until retirement, she in fact drove her tractor for spring seeding, through to fall fallow turning. She also made great pies - what an example of work ethic! Times have changed. Rural lifestyle & people tend to remain out of thought much of the time of city dwellers. These hard working

interior design: African American Dance Art * Laverne Ross * LIVING SPACES Staging & Interior Design Kelowna - 02/28/08 01:25 PM
A LITTLE ART AWARENESS Researching dance art five years ago, I stumbled upon this amazing piece by Laverne Ross. For me it was a breath-taking awakening into the world of African American Art. There is a tone in this field of art that is distinctly descriptive in a way difficult to put words to. It achieves what art is designed to. It is emotive, appealing to the senses and emotion. Successfully delivered art can be challenging to describe. interior design: Spring Staging * LIVING SPACES * Kelowna Home Selling - 02/23/08 05:36 PM
January and February is when home sellers begin thinking of listing their homes for spring sale. It's a time for also readying the property for the market. March is now quickly nearing! Perhaps the property has been on the market for some time. The local Okanagan and Kelowna market has become very competitive in the strength of recent years. It has also meant that extra efforts need be established to get to the head of the pack. Meadow Suite II Art Print Novak, Shirley Buy Affordable Art Prints The right time to stage is before listing. interior design: Kelowna Home Staging * Art In Modern Interiors * LIVING SPACES - 02/16/08 10:59 PM
Art is subjective. It is can be difficult to choose it objectively. Art tends to have a strong emotional impact. It appeals to the creative right brain. That's a great thing when selecting it for personal use and enjoyment. The left brain relates to art by trying to quantify and qualify, it seeks to make a logical decision about it. We need to balance left and right brain processes when selecting art for staging. It isn't the usual way we buy art, so can feel somewhat alien making a 'logical' decision where an emotive one is the usual criteria. (Sorry! but it's why A-types tend to need creatives to help them -

interior design: Home Interior Decorative Lighting Design in Living Spaces - 01/18/08 06:30 PM
The light fixture both indoors & out, regardless of esthetic effect, in interior design, landscape and home decorating should be functional in all ways, as well as fitting room decor. When lighting is correctly and effectively applied, there may be little or no need for interior decorative lighting fixtures in certain decor styles. The minimalist or very modern interior maintains lean streamline. The basic plan of a well designed plan illuminates the interior effortlessly. interior design: Rustic Stools Relating To Classic Historical Design in Interior Living Spaces - 01/18/08 06:28 PM
The most humble lowly stool with 3 or 4 peg legs and a seat began likely as a hearth or milking stool or other such peasant seating! The modern bar stool is a long way from its beginnings ......and back again, rustic style, emulating once again the nostalgia of old become new. The Parisian ‘gentry' were often not pleased with the roughly attempted designs of 'Provencal' country artisans in the 'Provinces'. However, in emulating the fine lines and curves of the aristocratic Louis 14th French Furniture, they came up with the solid earthy French Country styles we are generally far more fond of! Follow

interior design: Billiard Room Decor Living Spaces Interior Design - 01/18/08 06:24 PM
Adequate space for both table and cue area is the first critical consideration in Billiard Room Decor. If you are planning to build, great! Then you can plan the appropriate size space into the building plans. Basically what is required at minimum, is an extra 5 feet around all perimeters. As you see quite a large room is required to house both the table and the play. I've seen people so excited about getting a pool table, they've not allowed for cue reach. The average cue is 57 inches, some shorter, some longer. To Source Billiard Room Decor and Art Ideas visit HERE

interior design: Home Selling Checklist LIVING SPACES Interior Design - 01/05/08 03:24 PM
A PERSONALIZED CHECKLIST really gets you ORGANIZED and on with the task of preparing to stage and sell. List room by room what you plan to do with everything. Closets, cabinets and storage in the entire house need to be at least half emptied, cleared and cleaned. It will then need to be decided what to do with everything. And NO, it cannot be shoved into the garage. The challenge is to help potential buyers imagine themselves living in the house you are selling. making a mind shift will help you release the house for sale. When it comes time to actually move (and you are moving right? ‘cause the

Knowledge and direction for the logistics of starting a coffee shop and of coffee shop design need to be ready to lay out. According to the specific space, certain details such as plumbing, heating and electrical will to some degree dictate the floor plan. These are costly alterations to avoid whenever possible. Work stations, seating areas and equipment placement are the first general considerations. After planning and arranging the initial essentials of starting a coffee shop, comes the fun part of café décor! Cafe decor is usually more casual and comfortable than traditional restaurant interior design. Follow the link to many cafe articles:
