Woodbridge VA Homes Sold In July 2008 Up 253% Over July 2007 - 07/29/08 02:05 PM
According to our beloved Metropolitan Realtors Information Services (MRIS) database used by Realtors for listing and selling houses, July 2008 home sales in Woodbridge are up 253% compared to July 2007.
There were 265 homes SOLD in July 2007.
There are 672 homes SOLD so far in July 2008.
Are we seeing a trend, or just a blip?
Well, so far in 2008, the number of homes SOLD each month have been substantially higher when compared to the same months in 2007.
You may call it any way you like.  I call it a trend.

How The Mortgage Bail-Out Works, and Doesn't Work For Woodbridge Home Owners - 07/28/08 02:35 PM
The Senate on Saturday passed a $300 billion housing rescue bill aimed at helping troubled homeowners avoid foreclosure.
President Bush is likely to sign the bill into law within days. After the law kicks in on Oct. 1, thousands of at-risk borrowers will be able to refinance their unaffordable old mortgages into new low-cost fixed-rate loans insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA).
The Congressional Budget Office estimates that 400,000 borrowers with $68 billion in loans may benefit from the program - but the bill allows for as many as 1 million or 2 million borrowers to participate in the program.

River Falls is a lovely country club community backing to Lake Occoquan at the east end of Prince William County.
Something has changed in River Falls in 2008.  Suddenly, the community has gained the look and feel of an established community.  The raw, rough builder's landscaping featuring under-sized shrubs around homes and common areas have blossomed and bloomed into gracious landscapes.

Well Gentle Reader, I just ran a market report for the month of July for Prince William County, VA.
SOLD: 1,639 homes went under contract pending settlement to eager buyers in July. 
There were 1,686 homes sold in the month of June.  The total homes SOLD in June and July adds up to a hefty 3,325.
ACTIVE LISTINGS: A snapshot of the market taken on the last day of July showed 4,354 homes actively for sale.
