Hi all you movie buffs.  This movie is wonderful.  If you saw the twilight zone that I think this was based on, this movie is so much better.  It would be a great date movie, and would be touching to those together a few days, weeks, or even decades.  One thing I can say is that it is never boring, and the main characters are very interesting.  I really enjoyed it, and I hope you like it too.

Oil Rig Platform is now home to many -- Texas State Aquarium - 08/29/09 02:47 PM

I thought the left one looked nice because of the shaft of light that is going through the middle, but I lucked out and got the turtle in there too.  The right one is of the bottom of a oil rig platform.  You can see all the plants and animals that make it home.   There were sharks, but I could never time my pictures to get the entire shark in the picture.

USS Lexington -- Corpus Christi, TX - 08/29/09 01:18 PM
 
The next time you are in Corpus Christi, make sure to go by the USS Lexington.  It is open every day from 9am to 6pm.  It is kind of hot, but well worth the discomfort.  They had helicopters and planes on the top deck.  The public is allowed to go on most parts of the ship.  It has a deck that raises and lowers (the one used to bring planes up top).  Sorry the pic is so big, but it looked funny when I tried to shrink it.

When you are in Houston, try The Bake Shoppe & Cafe.  My favorite is the Spinach Mushroom quiche, but they have other offerings for lunch as well as a case full of pies, cakes, cookies and more. At Grant & Malcomson.

Texas State Aquarium Boasts Great Fish - 08/27/09 02:40 PM
When you are in Corpus Christi on vacation, make sure to go to the Texas State Aquarium.  It is one of the best in the United States.  It has great exhibits of fish, birds, sharks, jellyfish, otters, turtles, stingrays and a dolphin show.  I really loved the stingray pond where you put your hand in the water and the stingrays swim(fly) under your fingers.  Petting the stingrays is my favorite part of going there.

Tam's Place -- Vietnamese and American Cafe, located in Waller, TX is a great value for the money.  An all you can eat buffet with a drink for under $10.  That's hard to beat considering her food tastes homemade.  Todays buffet consisted of Crawfish ettufee (I know I spelled that wrong), chicken legs, fried rice, chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, boiled cabbage and carrots, chicken and dumplings, egg rolls, peach and cherry cobbler.  Give it a try if you are in the area.  Tell Tam that Liz Flint sent you.

If you are in the Houston vicinity, including Tomball and Magnolia and you need a Handyman, I really recommend Troy Hill.  He does a professional job, provides before and after color pictures (great for repair documentation), and does the repairs in a timely fashion.  He also is very clean cut and dependable.  Troy has worked on about 6 of my listings for Century 21 Hardee-Team Realty, and my house as well.  The seller at one of my listings that he worked on, called me to tell me how much she liked his work ethic, professional manner and reasonable price.   Mention to him that you got his name and … (0 comments)
