These pictures were taken near Quinlan, Oklahoma in late May, 2010.  This picture was taken from a bridge that allowed me to get a couple of great pictures of multiple engines and some of the freight cars as well.

This train was stopped further down the tracks from the last shot, he was waiting for another train to pass before he could go.  The trains on this stretch of track had to share a single track because of the rail road construction going on.

These train pictures were taken in May of 2010 in Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas.

This picture was taken from a bridge in Quinlan, Oklahoma.

This was further down the tracks near some great red mesas.

This BNSF engine was pulling a lot of tanker cars.  This might have been the one carrying all the black tankers full of corn syrup.

Here is the same train again, only this time I was able to get the grain elevator in the background.

"Robin Hood", a Movie Review - 05/22/10 03:34 PM
"Robin Hood" starring Russel Crowe and Cate Blanchett is worth the money.  Cate's performance was very good, she even goes into battle at one point.  Special mention should be made of William Hurt who plays a small role quite well and Mark Addy who plays Friar Tuck with a lot of wit and humor. 
Also appearing was Scott Grimes as Will Scarlett.  I associate Scott with ER, where he played a major role as a doctor  for several years.  I had a hard time getting used to his English accent, and kept expecting him to say "Clear" and be standing over a … (4 comments)

"Iron Man II", A Movie Review.  I actually saw Iron Man II the first day it was released, I think it was three Friday's ago.  The movie was very impressive.  Robert Downy, Jr was very good in his role as iron man -- there are lots of high tech feats the flying suit can do.  And who wouldn't want to be able to be questioned by the US Congress and end up getting a standing ovation from the crowd.  
Gwyneth Paltrow was Pepper Potts in the movie once again.  Don Cheadle was Iron Man's sidekick and he tries to keep Iron Man in line.   Scarlett … (4 comments)

These pictures were taken on Sunday May 16th, 2010 at the Davis Museum.  To see part I of this blog, click here.  This is a picture of the train depot/museum at Davis Oklahoma.  It is on the main highway going through Davis right near the railroad tracks.

The museum is open from 10am to 4pm.  The suggested donation is $1. 

The historic certificate is displayed proudly just near the front door of the musuem. 

I took a picutre of this train near the musuem.  What a beautiful sunny day it was, perfect for taking pictures.

The Davis museum has lots of wonderful artifacts inside.  As you can see the hours are from 10am-4pm.

They have lovely period clothing such as this wedding dress and black cocktail dress.

And they also have some newspaper articles from 1861.

Here are some of the uniforms on display to salute the War Years.

Can you guess what this is?  It kind of looks like something from Star Trek, but look at the next picture to see what it is.

Its the old version of hot curlers.

These are pictures taken during a trip to Oklahoma.  Here are some notable pictures of plants and animals that caught my eye.

These pictures were taken May 15 & 16th in between Davis, OK and Dougherty, OK.

I stopped to take a picture of the purple flower that was about 5 feet tall and was able to get a picture with a butterfly on the flower.

I couldn't resist a picture of these baby goats, they were so cute.

This honeysuckle was growing near some railroad tracks at a quarry.

The painted buffalo is also in front of the City Hall.

Trip to Davis, Oklahoma to take pictures of trains during the weekend of May 15 & 16, 2010.  Access to this property was by special permission of the owner for this weekend only. 

 This Atrak came through at about 9:30am.

 This BNSF freight train rumbled through towards noon.

This is the depot at Davis, OK and is also a museum.  It wasn't open when I went today, maybe I'll try again tomorrow and see what goodies they have inside.

 This BNSF had lots of new cars behind it.

844 is a steam train that was making a special run from Wyoming to Brownsville, TX and back to Wyoming.  Lots of train enthusiasts took pictures as it passsed.  I can tell you that the train was very loud and the whistle at each crossing was extra loud.
