Bill Fitch Speaks at the Magnolia Lions Club, May 6th, 2013. Bill Fitch has a long and famous basketball coaching career, but to Houston fans he will always be known as a Rocket's Coach.

Bill Fitch is an American former National Basketball Association (NBA) coach who has been successful in coaching teams and getting them to the playoffs.

His speech was a collection of anecdotes he was very comfortable answering questions from the audience.

He was gracious enough to take pictures with audience members.

Alex Hardee even wore his Rocket shorts and lanyard. To hear the words of a man that has coached basketball greats such as Larry Bird and others was inspirational.

Classic Car Show -- Vintage Park, Houston, Texas -- May 4, 2013

Pictures from the Classic car show from yesterday, May 4th, 2013. Vintage Park is located at Texas 249 and Louetta. Louetta is the dividing line between Tomball and Houston. The classic Car Show is the first Saturday of every month from 8 am to 10 am. Hope to see you there next month.

This awesome red Mustang has a 1968 HemisFair license plate.

Bright yellow car shows off its engine. The bright yellow hubcaps match the paint on the exterior of the car.

This looks like a car the Beach Boys would drive.

The purple paint on this beauty was striking. Even more purple in person.

Yellowstone National Park Video -- From Your Tomball Realtor

Here is a video about Yellowstone National Park. It discusses he best season to visit Yellowstone. I hope you enjoy it and are able to visit Yellowstone yourself someday. The bison or buffalo are an awesome sight, and, in at least one section of Yellowstone, large herds of bison cross the road at least once a day. Imagine hundreds of bison walking along and over the road you are driving in on your car. It is really an awe inspiring sight. It usually causes a traffic jamb, but everyone can see the bison up close during the slow progression.

This is the Tomball Depot, which is not too far from my office. By the way, the second Saturday of each month, there is a get-together at the Depot with movies, games and tours of the depot.

Coba, Mexico -- Interesting Architecture -- Jan 2013

This was from my Carnival Cruise on Jan 2013. My Cozumel excursion was to Coba to climb the pyramid.

This picture gives you a scale of how big the pyramid is.

Lots of folks tried to climb this pyramid. It is about the last pyramid you can climb on.

This man was happy he made it to the top. The ride to this pyramid took almost 4 hours by bus.

We were late getting back to the ship, but they waited for us.

Dancing waiters on Carnival cruise ship. Lots of upbeat music, and FUN, FUN, FUN!!!

Cool burnt orange car I saw today in Tomball, Texas. It was near the Nook Restaurant off of FM 2920.

This is a classic design that should stand the test of time. It has very sleek styling, and I like the wing as well. It is an eclipse. I'm sure I will see ones like it at the next car show in Vintage Park on the first Saturday of the month at 8am - 10am. Vintage Park is at 249 and Louetta. Hope to see you there.

UP Train Video & Flatonia, TX Photo Pavillion Meeting - 4/6/13

This last Saturday was the annual meeting at the Flatonia Photo Pavillion, where rail fans from all over meet to take photos of trains, buy or sell train memorabilia and just come to visit with other train buffs. This year the meeting was blessed by perfect weather, the sky was clear most of the time and the temperatures were in the 70's and 80's.

As you can see there is even a wheelchair ramp. There are several picnic tables to sit at under the cover. The whole pavillion has great views of the railroad tracks.

Magnolia Depot Day, April 20th, 2013 Fun Day Trips From Houston

The Historic Magnolia Depot. Open Saturday and Sunday from 1 - 5 pm. Make sure and look at the great pictures of the Hometown Christmas.

In case you don't know where this is, the address is 426 Melton Street, Magnolia, TX 77354. This is near where FM 1774 and FM 1488 cross in downtown Magnolia.

Here is a picture of the Historical marker on the back side of the depot.

You may have noticed the red caboose near FM 1774 as you were going to the Texas Rennaisance Festival.

Inside the depot there are display cases and artifacts. It has been a while since I have seen a pot bellied stove.

A close up of the sign on the north side of the depot. Another sign says sweet potatoes and cotton were run on this line in the old days.

I thought these ration books were interesting. There were for gas, and I think I remember my Mother saying there were also ration books/stamps for butter, sugar and chocolate.

Interesting Architecture in Texas -- From Your Tomball Realtor

These are some of my favorite pictures taken this weekend in Luling and San Antonio.

Luling was pretty deserted yesterday, so I was able to get pictures without cars in front of the buildings. I like the contrast of the white and aggie maroon on this building, as well as the nice arches and pediments.

I guess this in reference to the Watermelon festival that is held in Luling every year.

Saturday I went to San Antonio and walked from a public parking spot to the Alamo and the River Walk, and saw this nice building.

Another older building in San Antonio. I think it is City Hall. The detail on the side is really nice.

Wreck on 249 4/1/13, Across from Century 21 Hardee-Team Realty Office

Wreck this morning shortly after 9am in front of Lone Star College. The traffic was backed up on State Highway 249 towards Magnolia this morning. I took these pictures from the front porch of the Century 21 Hardee-Team Realty office.

Here is a close up of the wreck. The emergency services were out there very fast.

There were about 5 emergency vehicles all together, including ambulance, fire truck and police. It is now 9:49am and the highway is clear.

Magnolia Lions Club**Annual Pancake Dinner** Feb 2nd, 2013

The Pancake Dinner is at Magnolia Junior High School again. Come out for all you can eat pancakes, bacon, milk and coffee. There will be lots of great items for sale on a silent auction. Last year items on the silent auction included: trees and flowering plants, gift cards from restaurants and other items. Proceeds from the Pancake Supper will go for eyeglass exams and eyeglasses for the needy, summer camp for needy kids and other worthy causes the Lions club supports.

Dallas Area Train Show Jan 19 & 20, 2013 Come Have Some Fun!

Dallas Area Train Show -- Jan 19 & 20, 2013

A lot of the train displays are very elaborate, such as this circus layout. Even the rides worked, like the parachute ride in the background.

Looking from the stage you can see the convention hall is filled with exhibits and train displays.

Here is a close up of the Daylight Express -- one of my favorite trains. It is on the "bucket list".

Another awesome display. The model railroaders really take alot of pride in trying to do excellent displays.

Aside from just train memorabilia for sale, there were these cute candles that look like food.

This was a nice display, I love the elevation.

Sunflowers in Houston -- By Your Houston Real Estate Professional

I was showing houses last week near the Sam Houston Race Track and noticed these fabulous tall sunflowers.

There were sunflowers in different life stages.

This one with the black head looks really interesting. The black is a good contrast to the vibrant green.

Here a sunflower is just about to unfurl its petals. You can kind of see the inside of the flower around the petals.

Somehow, a zinnia got mixed in with the sunflowers. It sure is a great burnt orange color.

Here is a view a few feet away from the sunflower patch. They are up to about 10 or 11 feet tall.

...And I Kissed A Stingray ... Grand Cayman Island on 1/3/13. What an awesome excursion.

The water is so blue down there, it is just beautiful. The ship in the picture is the Norwegian Pearl. My cruise ship was the Carnival Magic.

This is the catamaran that took us out to the stingray sandbar for our interaction with the stingrays. On the way back to the harbor they unfurled the sails and we sailed back by wind power.

Here is one stingray that is looking for food or just to be petted or kissed.

Boats deposit people on the sandbar which puts you anywhere from waist deep to neck deep in the water and the stingrays swim up from the ocean depths of about 16,000 ft to come be with humans. They come of their own free will.

I got to hold a stingray and kissed two stingrays. It was supposed to be 7 years good luck if you kissed a stingray -- I think I could use 7 years good luck. The stingrays were elusive, but when the guides held them and fed them they were so docile. I also fed squid to one of the stingrays. I would go again if I had the chance.

Downtown was still decorated for Christmas.

I also had some time to shop in Grand Cayman and happened to see this cool artwork that looked like a stingray, and a turtle one below. The weather was a balmy 80 degrees that day in Grand Cayman. What a lovely memory.

Flowers, Birds and Fun in the Warm Sun -- Jamaican Style 1/2/13! Last week I went on a cruise to Jamaica, Grand Caymen Island and Cozumel. When we left Galveston on 12/30/12 it was a chilly 35 degrees. When the Carnival Magic arrived in Jamaica last Wednesday it was in the 80's. Here are some pictures I wanted to share with you.

This beautiful flowering tree was near the Jamaican port authority.

The same flowering tree was where I saw a hummingbird. You can only see an outline of it here, but the colors were magnificent.

This is the view when you are pulling into Jamaica. Look how blue the water is.

More flowers near the port authority. I thought the littel purple stripes were very unique.

And this is why we were really here in Jamaica, to ride dune buggies from the beach through the jungle. What a fun time.
