flowers: Balboa Park, San Diego, California With Russel Ray-- May 2013 - 07/25/13 10:07 AM
Balboa Park, San Diego, California.  May 2013 with Russel Ray.   Balboa Park was the site of the 1915 to 1916 Panama–California Exposition and 1935–36 California Pacific International Exposition, both of which left architectural landmarks. In 1977 Balboa Park and its beautiful historic Exposition buildings were declared a National Historic Landmark and National Historic Landmark District.

All the buildings in Balboa Park are works of art in their own right.  Their are interesting lines, pediments and decorations all over the exterior of the buildings.

This awesome tree is approximately 100 feet high and is next to the foot bridge over the freeway.

Happy Income Tax Day -- From Your Tomball Realtor!
Did you file your 2012 Tax Form today?  I finally finished mine and feel like a great weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

The IRS forms are very easy to access these days.  And the instructions are available online as well, or you can print them.

I took this picture of some flowers near the Chicken Express in Magnolia off of FM1774.  The color was a vibrant purple.

Sunflowers in Houston -- By Your Houston Real Estate Professional

I was showing houses last week near the Sam Houston Race Track and noticed these fabulous tall sunflowers.

There were sunflowers in different life stages.

This one with the black head looks really interesting.  The black is a good contrast to the vibrant green.

Here a sunflower is just about to unfurl its petals.  You can kind of see the inside of the flower around the petals.

Somehow, a zinnia got mixed in with the sunflowers.  It sure is a great burnt orange color.

flowers: Flowers, Birds & Fun in The Warm Sun -- Jamaican Style 1/2/13!! - 01/06/13 06:33 AM
Flowers, Birds and Fun in the Warm Sun -- Jamaican Style 1/2/13!  Last week I went on a cruise to Jamaica, Grand Caymen Island and Cozumel.  When we left Galveston on 12/30/12 it was a chilly 35 degrees.  When the Carnival Magic arrived in Jamaica last Wednesday it was in the 80's.  Here are some pictures I wanted to share with you.

This beautiful flowering tree was near the Jamaican port authority.

The same flowering tree was where I saw a hummingbird.  You can only see an outline of it here, but the colors were magnificent.

flowers: Texas Longhorns in Magnolia, Texas -- Oct 2012 - 10/05/12 08:25 AM

Texas longhorns.  This one looks like he is posing, but I zoomed all the way out with my camera, so I don't think he even saw me.

Here is the yellow field of flowers that first interested me enough to stop the car and take pictures.
Then I saw some of these awesome longhorns.  They look nice and healthy.

The horns on these two are different.   I took these pictures on the way from one of my listings going back to the office.  These pictures were taken on FM 1488 near Spur 149.

Beautiful purple tulips were one of my favorites.

These orange and yellow tulips had fuzzy edges on their petals.

One of the many flower beds with a mix of flowers.  These flowers almost remind me of a bunch of easter eggs.

There was on section of the gardens devoted to pansies.

These orange tulips have so many layers of petals they almost look like renuculas.

A happy mix of tulips and … (0 comments)

Fun in Austin, Texas, May 6th, 2012 By Your Houston & Tomball Real Estate Professional

A Round of minuature golf, or putt-putt as we sometimes call it, is a welcome opportunity to have some fun in Austin.  Peter Pan Mini Golf is on Barton Springs Drive.

Don't forget to have a great breakfast or lunch at an Einstein's Bagel's.  Outstanding food and awesome service.  The last time I was at this one (on Hwy 35) the manager made a specialty item for me and served it to me hot out of the oven.  Yumm!!

The Beauty of Nature -- Flowers & Sunsets From My Neighborhood & The US.

Cone Flower from Smoky Mountain National Park.

I happened to notice this sunset before I went to see "Contagion"at the movie theater.    With the drought here in Texas it is a rarity to see clouds anymore, but when they are here they create some beautiful sunsets.

Yellow flower.  Probably from Mercer Arboretum.  Here are some more pictures from Mercer Arboretum.

Sunset taken from Louetta near Tomball Parkway. In between Lakewood Forest, Heatherwood Village and Villagio subdivisions.

$$FREE$$ Family Entertainment -- Mercer Arboretum & Botanical Garden
After a showing yesterday I was close to Mercer Arboretum, so I went over for a quick tour.  I stayed close to the front of the facility.

The Herb garden is closer to the visitor's center than it used to be.

Thank you Brandt Petroleum.  The herbs all have signs with the common and scientific name of the plants.

This chili pepper really piqued my interest.  The peppers look like berries and the leaves are almost black in color.

This oregano could season a big pot of spaghetti … (0 comments)

Another Great Reason To Live In Mandolin Gardens -- New Park with Water Features

Mandolin Gardens is located off of Grant Road in between Perry and Jones Road.

This greenbelt is now a super water park that is enjoyable to hike on, sit and watch sunsets on or picnic on.

The designers really did a great job with the landscaping.  I think these are purple verbenas (or a close cousin).

I happen to think the HUGE gazing ball is a neat addition.  It is on a little island in the middle of the newer section.  You have … (1 comments)

July Flowers From Your Tomball Real Estate Professional

These cute flowers were at my local Chick-fil-A restaurant.  They put out fresh flowers at least once a week.

These simple and elegant daisies were at a wedding I attended in July of 2011.

Great purple hibuscus outside of my office.  You can see part of the Texas star in the middle of the flower.

Lovely yellow roses carried by the bride and the bride's maids.

This cute purple flower looks velvety soft.   I am still practicing taking pictures of close up objects.

Thanksgiving With The Family November 2002 from your Houston Real Estate Professional

The little kitty seems fascinated by something under the salvia bush.

I love these will purple berries,  they look so festive.  Sometimes they appear in little clumps all the way to the end of the branch.

These cats are in my brother's barn.  They have learned to coexist with the horses just fine.  The top one seems to have a very intelligent look on its face.

I love the bright colors on this pepper plant.  Muy caliente.

Stunning Flowers From Texas -- From Your Houston Real Estate Professional

After being so dry here in the Houston area, it rained for a full day last week.  This cute little flower popped up on Sunday.  It appears to be symmetrically perfect.

I think this is called a balloon flower.  I took the picture on a weekend that I was taking pictures of trains in Texas.

This little batch of flowers also bloomed after the rain last week.  I believe it is a portulaca.

This lovely wine cup (or primrose)  is traditionally a wild flower seen on the … (2 comments)

Austin And Texas Central Railroad -- June 11, 2011.  A lady in my office needs a rental in Austin, and I volunteered to show her properties.  I got to Austin on Friday night and took these pictures on Saturday morning.

This is the train that runs between Leander and Cedar Park.    This is the Leander station.

This Austin Western diesel locomotive is painted in a different style than the one I saw last time in Austin.  The one I saw last year was orange and black paint scheme.

Beautiful flower outside a branch of Chase Bank on FM 249.

Lovely red flowers from Chick-fil-A.

Cute vincas.  They are one of the few flowers that can survive the drought that we are having here in the Houston and Tomball area.

This group of flowers is in front of HEB at Vintage Park in Houston on Louetta at FM 249.  The Gerbera Daisys are very cheery.
