flowers: Balboa Park, San Diego, California With Russel Ray-- May 2013

Balboa Park, San Diego, California. May 2013 with Russel Ray. Balboa Park was the site of the 1915 to 1916 Panama–California Exposition and 1935–36 California Pacific International Exposition, both of which left architectural landmarks. In 1977 Balboa Park and its beautiful historic Exposition buildings were declared a National Historic Landmark and National Historic Landmark District.
All the buildings in Balboa Park are works of art in their own right. Their are interesting lines, pediments and decorations all over the exterior of the buildings.
This awesome tree is approximately 100 feet high and is next to the foot bridge over the freeway.

Happy Income Tax Day -- From Your Tomball Realtor! Did you file your 2012 Tax Form today? I finally finished mine and feel like a great weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
The IRS forms are very easy to access these days. And the instructions are available online as well, or you can print them.
I took this picture of some flowers near the Chicken Express in Magnolia off of FM1774. The color was a vibrant purple. (0 comments)
I was showing houses last week near the Sam Houston Race Track and noticed these fabulous tall sunflowers.
There were sunflowers in different life stages.
This one with the black head looks really interesting. The black is a good contrast to the vibrant green.
Here a sunflower is just about to unfurl its petals. You can kind of see the inside of the flower around the petals.
Somehow, a zinnia got mixed in with the sunflowers. It sure is a great burnt orange color.

Flowers, Birds and Fun in the Warm Sun -- Jamaican Style 1/2/13! Last week I went on a cruise to Jamaica, Grand Caymen Island and Cozumel. When we left Galveston on 12/30/12 it was a chilly 35 degrees. When the Carnival Magic arrived in Jamaica last Wednesday it was in the 80's. Here are some pictures I wanted to share with you.
This beautiful flowering tree was near the Jamaican port authority.
The same flowering tree was where I saw a hummingbird. You can only see an outline of it here, but the colors were magnificent.
Texas longhorns. This one looks like he is posing, but I zoomed all the way out with my camera, so I don't think he even saw me.
Here is the yellow field of flowers that first interested me enough to stop the car and take pictures. Then I saw some of these awesome longhorns. They look nice and healthy.
The horns on these two are different. I took these pictures on the way from one of my listings going back to the office. These pictures were taken on FM 1488 near Spur 149. (0 comments)
A Round of minuature golf, or putt-putt as we sometimes call it, is a welcome opportunity to have some fun in Austin. Peter Pan Mini Golf is on Barton Springs Drive.
Don't forget to have a great breakfast or lunch at an Einstein's Bagel's. Outstanding food and awesome service. The last time I was at this one (on Hwy 35) the manager made a specialty item for me and served it to me hot out of the oven. Yumm!!
Wishing you a fabulous Easter holiday to celebrate with your loved ones and friends.
These pictures were taken at the Dallas Arboretum during Spring break 2012.

I happened to notice this sunset before I went to see "Contagion"at the movie theater. With the drought here in Texas it is a rarity to see clouds anymore, but when they are here they create some beautiful sunsets.
Yellow flower. Probably from Mercer Arboretum. Here are some more pictures from Mercer Arboretum.
Sunset taken from Louetta near Tomball Parkway. In between Lakewood Forest, Heatherwood Village and Villagio subdivisions.
The little kitty seems fascinated by something under the salvia bush.
I love these will purple berries, they look so festive. Sometimes they appear in little clumps all the way to the end of the branch.
These cats are in my brother's barn. They have learned to coexist with the horses just fine. The top one seems to have a very intelligent look on its face.

After being so dry here in the Houston area, it rained for a full day last week. This cute little flower popped up on Sunday. It appears to be symmetrically perfect.
I think this is called a balloon flower. I took the picture on a weekend that I was taking pictures of trains in Texas.
This little batch of flowers also bloomed after the rain last week. I believe it is a portulaca.
