Sunflowers in Houston -- By Your Houston Real Estate Professional

I was showing houses last week near the Sam Houston Race Track and noticed these fabulous tall sunflowers.

There were sunflowers in different life stages.

This one with the black head looks really interesting.  The black is a good contrast to the vibrant green.

Here a sunflower is just about to unfurl its petals.  You can kind of see the inside of the flower around the petals.

Somehow, a zinnia got mixed in with the sunflowers.  It sure is a great burnt orange color.

Sunset Photos From Your Houston Real Estate Professional

This was taken on the way back from the Sandcastle Contest Saturday June 2nd, 2012.   This shot was from the Galveston causeway.

This was from the causeway looking the other direction toward the new railroad bridge.   The middle part of the bridge lifts up for barges and boats to pass under.

This stunning sunset was taken through the tree.   It almost looks like the tree is on fire.

The same sunset from a different angle.  According to the sign across the street it was June 4th, 2012.

What cute colors on these retro purses.  The colors are better in person.  I think I will have to go back and buy one of these.

Don't miss the hay ride at the Depot at 6pm.  Sounds like fun.

German Santa in front of the German Roasted nuts booth.  There are over 100 booths selling food, jewelry, books, jams and jellies and items that can be great Christmas presents.

liz flint: I Love To Travel, But It Is Always Great To Come Home To Texas! - 11/19/11 06:35 PM
I Love To Travel, But It Is Always Great To Come Home To Texas!

I was told that this is a famous picture.  Have you seen it before?  The mountains are the Guadalupe Mountains.

I happened upon a new rest area.

This is one of the fanciest rest areas I've seen in Texas.  It has lots of lovely stone and tile.

The information boards tell about the surrounding area and also about the wind turbine project.

They built some nice picnic areas as well.

When I travel, I always love to see this sign.

liz flint: Bulls with HUGE Horns -- Houston, Texas - 11/13/11 06:43 PM
Bulls with HUGE Horns.  Several times a year I pass by these bulls with their enormous horns.

I stumbled upon them by accident on a infrequently traveled road in the Houston area.  When I saw the size of the horns, I just had to stop and take pictures.  They are different than Texas Longhorns, these horns are much bigger in diameter.

These two bulls were playfully butting heads and horns.  I guess they have learned how to spar and not hurt each other.

This bull looks really smart.

Here are the two brown bulls playing around again.  … (2 comments)

liz flint: Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Halloween Day, 2011. - 11/06/11 09:36 AM
Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Halloween Day, 2011.

There are some great trails at Garden of the Gods.  Some are paved and are wheel chair accessable.

Picture of Pikes Peak from the gift shop at Garden of The Gods.  Unfortunately the day I tried to go to Pike's Peak there was a rock slide and the cog tracks were blocked with rubble that had to be cleared.

Another of the great pictures from Garden of the Gods.  The Garden of the Gods also has a feature called balanced rock that is very impressive.  Hope you get … (2 comments)

2011 Fall Festival at Lone Star College -- University Park

I think the tricycles were part of a racing game, but I didn't try it.

People were dressed in costume, like this jester.

We even had a few witches stop by.

This Dracula was at the top of a large pile of balloons.

This bad dog escaped from his confinement to attend the festival.  I wonder if they gave him a hot dog.

One of the games was this "whirly gig" my technical name for this contraption that spins you every which away.

The Beauty of Nature -- Flowers & Sunsets From My Neighborhood & The US.

Cone Flower from Smoky Mountain National Park.

I happened to notice this sunset before I went to see "Contagion"at the movie theater.    With the drought here in Texas it is a rarity to see clouds anymore, but when they are here they create some beautiful sunsets.

Yellow flower.  Probably from Mercer Arboretum.  Here are some more pictures from Mercer Arboretum.

Sunset taken from Louetta near Tomball Parkway. In between Lakewood Forest, Heatherwood Village and Villagio subdivisions.

Who Can Finance Unrestricted Land Over 10 Acres?
I am having a real problem finding financing for a cliet of mine that fell in love with a piece of land that is unrestricted and 13 acres.  After taking a while to find the perfect piece of land, now we are being turned down by one bank because it is over 10 acres, the other lenders say they can't finance it because it is unrestricted.  Do you have a lender that you can recommend?  I have already tried Bank of America, Capital One, Woodforest National Bank and Capital Farm Credit.

Come join us for a time honored tradition here in Magnolia.  The turkey shoot is a well know Magnolia Lions Club event.  In fact when some people see a Magnolia Lion, they come up and ask when the next turkey shoot is.  The original date for the Turkey Shoot was in September, but due to the Wildfires, it was postponed.

The new date for the Magnolia Lions Club Turkey Shoot is October 29 & 30th, 2011.  Events start at 10am each day and go until dusk.  … (1 comments)

Fond Memories of Smoky Mountains National Park -- August 2011

What breath taking views!  I must commend the park on having lots of great turn outs for picture taking.

This quilt was hanging up at a Smoky Mountain National Park visitors center over the fireplace.

Here is another visitors center on Cades Cove Loop.  Make sure to take the time to do this driving loop, the rustic buildings are well worth the time.

I loved the tunnels, being from Houston, we don't have mountains, so tunnels are a treat.

This unusual yellow flower had little cups … (3 comments)

liz flint: A Quick Tour Of Lake Livingston -- Texas State Park By Your Houston Real Estate Professional - 09/12/11 08:10 PM
A Quick Tour Of Lake Livingston By Your Houston Real Estate Professional.  After My Showing on Saturday I Went To Lake Livingston.  I was only 3.5 miles from the exit for the park, so I thought I would go take some pictures.

I'm glad I went over there.  It was nice to see water, after coming from Houston, Tomball and Magnolia where it is so dry that there have been wild fires in Magnolia.

Here is a nice picnic spot to watch the people out on the lake.

This is one of the boat ramps for public use.
